Im playing in HOF mode and i'm in the ice palace level 2.

Do someone managed to finish all the 10 level?

Each creature i summon will hit once then being teleported away.
So no way to kill in 60 sec enemy with a lot of hit points.
And complete 7 square/fights look impossible also reloading a LOT.
When i played the game in normal mode (hard) was easy done by a monk whose stunning punch really worked but now -due to the huge constitution of opponents- it is worthless as well as many instant killing spell (enemy can easy made a save throw).

tks

I made this same post prior and was basically acknowledged, you could do a search and get some info on this.
First of all what makes up your party?
Believe it or not though, it can be done. I used several charactors, basically a fighter is cheese. Also Mace of disruption is totally a boon. When they teleport away they go to a room in the South west of the map. If you time it right, (wait untill the Golleum shows up and you charactor,), whoever is in the room can kill the enemy and you still recieve the square.
It kind of sounds like you are soloing?, amI wrong? Soloing in heart of Fury would be noteworthy but maybe futile.

Well I hope this sheds some light on you game, if you need anymore info, just reply.

Level 5 NOW

i have a full party:

1Paladin/Warrior (only 2 level of Paladi to get improved save throw and fear immunity)
1 Monk (good armor, nice damage, quick and varios immunity)
1 Pladin/Cleric (2le paladin as above)
1Sorcer (now i'va lev 9spell otherwise unavailable and can speaack to ppl to get reward as well as having discounted prices)
1 Ranger (got this to improve in ranged weapons but it is bettter to get a warrior causo of specializaztione and the magic is useless)
1 thief/Mage (2 lev thief to disarm trap etc and some weapon prof) .the mage is actually quite useless because of lack of spell/scroll.

My prior technique (no HOF) was based only on a spell boosted monk...his stunning punch could do the difference.
NOW is different cause stunning as well as most instant dead spell works only if there is a save throw of 1 (critical miss) so i had to change.

Basically AVOID elemental and some kind of dead due to their resistence or great hit point.

In the option menu you can enable the view the saving throw
....this will let you understand how the game works and why some spell wont work as in normal mode (some monster have a bonus save higher than your small try to magically hit) !

You can get a easy square win each level by having 6 summoned creature to hit (when they hit they are teleported with your party) and maybe some floating damage spell such the elctric glife of the cleric, the skull of the mage or some area spell (you can't save while they are "alive" so if you get an elemental it's a reload a recast).

The mage can cast murdekayken sword (a good damage but no crushing and can hit almost always) or some istant dead (maybe lessen resistence improve the chance of hitting) having a skeleton wandering around to have the enemy follow it (because it has some speed and you wont' fear to have it disappearing when you have 10 sec!). Maybe worth trying are the other magical summoned weapon but i have not them.

Monk can naturally hit 4 time a round with his punch (actually the best weapon i have) and you have the chance to stun or even instant kill the opponent if it critically fails the save throw (believe me, when it happens you will enjoy! and you have -i think- 1 on 20 chance). Must be provided with MANY healing potion (Ramoraz can hit you for 80 mixed damage point and i have 20 res point! )

Worth having are help, emotion hope, strengh, dext (least 7 square !), stone skin, then mirror images for the mage but the best are improved invisibility (most monster will miss you by far above 50%) and speed (1 more attack per round but unfortunatly last few time).

Skeleton can be easy dispatched with the monk punch as well as most living enemy or shadow. Enemy with resistance to crushing such mummy are almost invicible in 60 sec.

If someone could get rid of any kind of elemental let me know...

Cornugon and some other will often teleport and being killed by your party and if you are lucky they will be awaited there by the skeleton teleported away when they first hit it the battlechess room...sometimes you need to stop the party to hit to wait the golem nearby to see the enemy death.

Summon elemental and portal are about useless cause till you get the max (6) some of them will run away (!!!!).
So better focus on skeleton who least 7 hours or so and high level monster who can have big damage (only one hit of course but worth it).

At level 5 most of enemy have too many hit point to be killed by the mage with the sword so i switched to the monk.
The Warrior isn't as quick but mainly he has no resistence (= get much damage and even get charmed!) and about the same armor class of the monk (oh yea!!! my monc can have 31 armor class with some bosting) so he his third choiceafter the sorcer.

Other class are far to be competitive:
mage has no spell
cleric has some nice spell but damaging spell are not enough to kill in 60 sec and she has poor melee skill.
Ranger: she is good in ranged weapon, useless in 60 sec.

I guess if someone could -also in normal mode- complete the battlechess without reloading.on 250 fight (!!!!!!!!!!!!!) you are supposed to do i think is IMPOSSIBLE (a couple of elemental can easily defeat you).

I did IT !!!

Actually i did it!!

was by far easyer after lev 5 cause mace of destruption can get rid of almost any enemy you will face till the end of the battle chess.
You have a 1 on 20 chance of istant kill any elemental or demon.
Was pretty fine cause you will face water elemental who can deliver 108 damage per hit and also Gelugon whose 4 hands attack 4 times a round coupled with high AC.

tks btw !
:D :p ;) :)
