2 Questions
1. How do I open a door that is magically sealed and may not be affected by minor spells.
2. How do I kill Stone Golems, I have tried Breech, Peirce Magic, stone to flesh?? Sometimes they are affected and sometimes not?

2. Golems have magic ressistance. Use blunt weapons to destroy the strong ones (stone or iron golems) 'cause they are immune at slash or pierce weapons.

Ah hah
Those doors that are magically sealed need either:
1) a special key you have to find
2) Some plot factor to be completed to open it
The message is the game telling you it's not ready to let you in yet.
As Derrin said, stone golems are, I believe, nearly completely magic resistant, so breach & other spells will do you no good. Use blunts - +2 or better, IIRC. Kill them fast, as they hit quite hard.

1. If you can't open a locked door by picking the lock or casting the Knock spell, then the game is preventing you from opening it for a reason. To open the door, you must perform other actions first that are related to the quest at hand. Alternatively, you might need a special "key", which might take the form of a special object or a wardstone. And finally, I can think of a locked chest in the Shadow Thief compound that can't be opened because it's probably bugged.
2. Stone golems can only be hit by +2 or better weapons. In other words, if you try to hit one with a +1 sword, it won't help. EDITED: Stone golems are not limited to blunt damage (clay golems are). They do, however, have 100% resistance to magic. The Wizard spell called Lower Resistance and the Priest spell Magic Resistance can help, but trying to hurt them with spells is kind of tricky, since they are immune to a lot of effects such as Slow, poison, and possibly Stun and Hold. (Sorry, I can't remember for sure.)
Please don't take this the wrong way, but you really ought to read the spell descriptions in your manual (or your characters' spellbooks). If you can learn how to use spells effectively, your characters will be unbelievably powerful. So it's definitely worthwhile to read up on spells.
Breach dispels protection spells such as Stoneskin, and Pierce Magic dispels protection spells such as Minor Spell Turning. In the right circumstances, they are very, very useful. But stone golems don't cast protection spells, so you're wasting your time if you try to use Breach and Pierce Magic against them. Pierce Magic does lower your opponent's magic resistance, so it wouldn't go completely to waste, but it only lowers the resistance by 1% per level of the caster. In comparison, Lower Resistance lowers the resistance by 10% plus 1% per level of the caster, so it would be a much better use of a casting round. Stone-to-Flesh sounds like an interesting idea (nice thinking), but I don't think it will work because of limitations in the game; if in doubt, all you can do is go by what the spell description says, and that's probably all that it will do.
Try hasting your fighters and using +2 weapons. Good luck!

VonDondu, please correct me if I am wrong but AFAIK some golems can be slowed (I remember I slowed an Iron Golem -or was it a Stone one?- with an enchanted flail )

Oh, and I'd thought I'd mention about golems.
The thing with Iron and Adamantite Golems is that they can only be damaged by Weapons of +3 enchantment or higher. The flail that Derrin posted about will definitely help (because I remember the Flail of Ages having a chance to slow targets on a succesful hit, or just definite if the target is not resistant/immune).
What the others have said about magically sealed doors is correct. Sometimes, keys or other plot devices (events, other special items, or the likes) will be the only ways to open doors that otherwise cannot be opened by conventional means. Also, be careful of traps on or around some doors that you need to open with a key, so have a thief ready to detect and disarm them.
Have fun, and good luck keeping your party alive, AttkLax.

Golems may be Magic Resistant.. However.. cloudkill, which is conjured by magic, does not do magical damage, therefore, injures golems.

Actually - Clay Golems can only be hit with magical blunt weapons - they are immune to slash and pierce, not blunt.

You might be right, but I can't remember exactly what golems are immune to because it has been so long since I've killed them or looked at their creature files. (I restarted the game recently but haven't gotten very far.) Sorry.

If the Flail of Ages slows them down, that's great.
As keeB said, Cloudkill can injure some if not all types of golems. Cloudkill causes poison damage. That seems strange to me, since I thought that golems were supposed to be immune to poison. I remember discussing this issue before and doing some experimenting to figure out what the deal is, but I don't remember what the results were. Maybe someone else can enlighten us.

Sorry, I made a typo. I meant to say that stone golems are not limited to blunt damage (but clay golems are). You can hit stone golems with slashing and piercing weapons as well as blunt weapons (but clay golems can only be hit by blunt weapons). Sorry for the confusion.
BTW, adamantite golems have 90% resistance to all forms of physical damage (slashing, piercing, and blunt), so they're hard to hit with
anything. Also, there's at least one weapon in the game that can destroy certain types of golems in one hit, but I think it might spoil things if I said any more than that.

pre baldurdash fixpack, the wand of cloudkill was able to damage even golems with 100% magic resistance...and firing wands using the fog of war with dragons made them immensely easy to kill...
the fix pack fixes the wand, and improved ai mods make dragons a lot more exciting...
