Well - depends on favorite how?

Favorite in combat, favorite as personality etc.

My favorite personalities are Jaheria, Minsc and Jan Jansen.

Jaheria cause she is the only one that offers some realistic personality via the romance.
Minsc cause ... well it is Minsc and Boo
Jan - hes got some funny dialog.

Dislikes:

Well that wingless fly called Aerie... she is so whiny
Amonen because he is so annoying, at least untill he gets knighted. (and also after that)
Nalia also annoys me endlessly.

my 3 faves, (just on personality & dialogue):

1. jan jansen- this guy is hilarious... i love his anecdotes & his sly stabs at the more serious members of the party

2. korgain- what a bad ass! i loved his jaded and agressive dialogue & his "reality checks" with the other members of the party

3. minsc- a lot of people find him annoying, but i think he's great... funny as hell



my most 3 disliked:

1. aerie- oh my god i cant stand her.. i always leave her out of parties, her stupid whining, memories of her stupid wings, etc... aaahh

2. imoen- she's pretty whiny too... and all those flashbacks, ughh... thank god she leaves so early in the game (nooo dont save her!)

3. jaheria- mrs sarcasm... all she does is ***** and make biting remarks, no thanks i think i'll pick up cernd if i need a druid

Hmm... tough one actually.

Favourites:

1. Must have Jan! good mage and very good thief and all his stories makes the game even better!

2. Minsc, never leave home without him...

3. Jaheira, the only romance worth playing... and I love her soundset, best voice in the game.


Least...

1. Cernd, just hate him...
2. Nalia, "Hey, I've got lots of money and want to help the poor, but I have nothing to offer your party but whining..."
3. Anomen... well, do I really have to mention why?

Korgan - I dunno why, he just bugs me
Aerie - too whiny by half

Mixed reactions:
Anomen - well written storyline & an interesting character, but WOW is he annoying
Yoshimo - great NPC, but what a tragic storyline

Likes:
Everyone else, pretty well.

Favorite personalities (because 3 is too little for me; sorry) :
- Aerie (Very brave individual - she can pick her self up from sorrow and tragedy and keep going.)

- Minsc (Boo is an interesting touch, but I mainly like him for his bravado.)

- Keldorn (Who doesn't like a Paladin who fights age and evil to uphold his duty? He also has that bravery that sounds cool.)

- Anomen (His talk of gallantry and honor really fits in my crowd.)

- Korgan (His banter and frustration often makes me chuckle.)

- Imoen (Don't know what to say, but there's something about her that seems cool. Maybe it's how she fits into the entire story line.)

- A certain someone in ToB (Won't spoil who they are for those who haven't gotten there yet, and wish to find out for themselves.)

Intermediate:
- All others. I can't really find an NPC in this game that I totally dislike.

Favourites:

-Aerie (although she's really annoying in the beginning, she finally get's over it and turns into a really interesting character (at least if you romance her ), +Cleric/Mages are extremly powerful at higher levels)
-Yoshimo (very interesting and well thought out character, it's a pity you can't keep him very long.., and Bounty Hunters just rule, at least until their traps no longer hold the target(s))
-Haer'Dalis (Tieflings are just cool )

Most Disliked (I dislike no NPC that much that I wouldn't take them into my party from time to time, but still there are some NPCs that I normally avoid getting)

-Jan Jansen (yes Jan, I'm serious . It's not that I absolutely hate him, but I find most of his stories more annoying than funny, and his quest is going on my nerves everytime (all this running around.... )
-Valygar (though his character could be very interesting, he lacks good dialogues.. much wasted potential IMO, but stalker is a very good kit)
-Anomen (only if you are male, he is much more interesting/less annoying if you romance him)
-Edwin (though very (almost too) powerful mage with a very funny sidequest (who did it knows what I'm talking about ) I really dislike him,I just can't stand his arrogance)

Favorites:

1) Keldorn: I wouldn't care for him but his dialogues with Yoshi and Korgan make him human and cool enough to match his fighting prowess.

2) Korgan: I've gotta find me something to GUT!!!

TOB Spoiler (Highlight to read):
3) Sarevok: I like to keep him evil but I like the fact that he's intelligent enough to learn that the path that gets you killed - twice - isn't one to be pursued.

Dislikes:
1) Jaheira: I completed the romance once just for the experience but not enjoyable. I pretty much hate everytime she opens her mouth.

2) Arie: Would you like cheese with your whine?!?

3) Cernd: Blah blah blah!!!

Honorable mention - Favs
Minsc - I could handle Cernd in the party if Minsc started trying to talk like him...

Anomen - Just shut up and fight
Valygar - See Anomen
Yoshimo - great, except for...
Arie - Fabulous spell caster and the verbal coals you can through at her are soooooooooo much fun!!!!

Likes:
Mazzy (by far the most mature person in the entire story)
Minsc (noble and funny, what more could you ask)
Nalia (ok, she's annoying, but she really does try to be good)


Dislikes:
Jan (not funny, just annoying)
Anomen (I can't imagine dating a woman who would date a guy like this)
Cernd (at least Faldorn had personality...)

Favorites

Jan - Goes with any party and has great dialogue with everyone. Also, the only thief who gets better other than Yoshimo.

Aerie- Whines at first but learns to love battle plus oodles of spells.

Minsc- Butt kicking for goodness!

Mazzy- Only good fighter in the game and she acts like Aerie's older sister. Halflings are awesome!

Least liked

Yoshimo- You know why.

Jaheira- Months of travelling with her and she still doesn't realize I'm in charge.

Haer Dalis- Steals Aerie plus I'm not a fan of bards.

Least liked?

Korgan - Turn on my girl will you? (I was romancing that flightless wonder)
Edwin: Attack Minsc will you? DIE!
Haer'Dalis - Try and steal my girl, will you? I can take that, if you'd just stick around afterword!

Favorites?

Jaheira: Nice dialogs...
Aerie: Ooh, I'm so pitiful, I need help! (I'm a sucker for redemtion / self improvement tales)
Minsc: Do I even need to say anything?

I see I'm lacking experience...

I haven't explored all the wonderful party combos, but I will certainly take some of the suggestions you all have offered thus far.

For my part:

Take'em every time -
Minsc - he keeps us on the Right track ("Rangers and hamsters everywhere!")
Yoshimo - he takes a licking and keeps on ticking (at least until he can find traps 100% of the time)
Jaheira - she won't let us cool our heels in any one location for long ("Why are we just standing around...")

Doormat material -
Edwin - I'd love to see one of his spells blow up in his face; might shake his infernal confidence
Nalia - too sanctimonius for my taste ("I've helped YOUR kind, lots of times.")
Cernd - just another tree-hugger IMHO

I'll have to take Korgan, Mazzy and Jan for a roadtest in the next game. Y'all have piqued my interest.

Well, well, well..interesting thread this one.. I must say.
Whom do you and do you not like? To sat that without hurting the feelings of the persons we're talking about? Quite interesting...really..


Whom in BG2 do I not like? let's see..

Nalia, no, not my type, even though she has this really nice castle... and

Mazzy, never liked her, always felt that she was too short, , and when I get to know her i've already got my friends...

And, no I won't say Anomen here, cause i like him, he might be a little irritating sometimes but, since he's one of the best i've ever met, then it's worth it. [NoBoDy'S pErFeCt]

I like Valygar too, he's this strong silent type (ok, don't know where i got that from, but thank's to the one who came up with it) I mean Valygar is real good, together with Anomen and My horrible Magic Missiles, like six of them or so..

I don't think there's one single NPC I strongly dislike.

Still, I don't like very much:
1)Yoshimo - terrible accent; he seems pretty unreliable and looks like the perfect traitor.
2)Jaheira - she's such a lovable lady when she keeps quiet;
3)Imoen - I just don't like her voice

I like:
1)Minsc - "Great fun! Right, Boo?"
2)Keldorn - I need his advice when I'm not sure what path to head on;
3)Anomen - because he's strong and brave and fearless. Because he's not giving a damn on those snobs who consider him "arrogant". Because he's a winner although everything and everybody stands against him.

Best romance , complex character , interesting story um....godly elven body... great.. um ..sex.. you get the idea

Valygar - let's see -18 dex , cool voice , stalker (the name itself is cool ) but generally an idea of a guy hidden in shadows , wearing a fine suit of SHADOW dragon armor (that's basically very cool ) , wielding 2 katanas with eyes concentrated on the back of some evil mage who keeps staring at the corridor in his own tower , waiting to face the dreaded Corthala guy who recently took care of several other wizards in the area/own organization... I'm sure you get the picture.

BTW He kinda reminds me of Michael from Nikita series. (not sure if I should've said that )

Aerie - well basically I get to do the "knight in shining armor" routine when romancing her , very anime-like character

Those that I actually do hate :

Jaheira : she has the best char pic - but that won't do with her voice , attitude , the dam Khalid thing etc.

Edwin : my gosh he's a whiner , don't like his voice too - I love that murmuring of his however (like the thing when you summon him starting ToB - top notch )

Anomen - seriously - this guy has got to go. Once I got so mad at him I almost wanted to go outside and beat the crap out of the first person who resembled his looks.


I pretty much like the rest. Some of them a lot even - Mazzy - for her stats,skills , and nice British accent or Jan - for overall fun/usefullness factor , Imoen - for the good or evil ? thing and Keldorn - well he's just a well thought char.

Faves:
Yoshimo- Brilliant. Absolutly broke my heart the first time I played. I'd love to see a really tragic patch for a romance with this guy.

Jan- Funny.

Viconia- Makes me laugh, good dialogue.

Least Faves-
Aerie- Gets on my nerves.

Cernd- Self-righteous idiot.

Haer Dalis- I just don't think that he's very nice, at all

Favorites:

-Haer Dhalis
Hes the most witted of all NPC's and has some cool dialogs (with Jaheira for example). When you reach a certain point in the game he can become very powerfull

-Jaheira
She has the most interresting dialogs with the most depth. She to is very powerfull....and her "questst" are pretty fun. I consider her as a good, if not the best, friend.

-Tashia
Funiest NPC's. Also has the best romance. As a sorceres she is invaluable.


Dislikes:

-Cern
Dull, no interesting dialogs and leaves his family...

-Anomen
Name says it all, although not a bad character, hes to arrogant IMO.

-Valygar
Also quite dull.....although as a stalker he could be quite cool, I think Bioware should've done more with him. He really lacks in character depth and good dialogs.
