I'm curious what does the regular BG2 player looks like. Is he/she smart, sensitive, shy, tall , stupid, lazy , how's he/she? Who knows... But I thought it would be interesting (and fun, why not?) to ask you two questions. You may add some more questions if you like but first of all try not to cheat, OK? ;)
So, here we go:

1. What is your IQ? (tough question, huh :D )
2. What do you like most in SoA ? (you must agree with me, this is a beautiful question :p )

Bon Chance

1. I cant remember...although i did a test ages ago and it was high enough to join MENSA but i cant remember what it was.

2. This is not specific to SoA, but I love getting items making items, buying items, handing in items to improve my characters. Second to that is banter.

3. Which BG2 character do you think you are most-like? not voice or looks, characteristics. eg. jan tries to cheat the system with his marketing and do things his own way *cough* UserUnfriendly *cough*
For me I would say Edwin because (some people say) im a bit selfish and i MUST be better than everyone else :)
Or Valygar cos i dont talk much :)

nasty cough you got there...ok, I completely admit it...whenever I take the tests for "what d&d character" I am, I usually end up a neutral mage thief, gnomish....yes, I am actually Jan Jansen...I even eat turnips...

:D :D :D

1)I think it was around 140...I can't remember...

2)I love hacking the game, using shadowkeeper and near infinity to make the game into anything I want...(most blatant jan-like quality I possess...)

3)I am indeed Jan....well, I admit it...hehehehhe!!!!!!

1. I don't believe it but they told me of 162

2. I like the storyline. This is also why I'm not the real hacker of the game cauze I don't wanna spoil the fun. I also like that Magic & Dragons stuff alltogteher.

3. Irenicus

1. 159, I think.

2. I LOVE getting items. Pretty items with names and stories. I end up with packs full of useless weapons that nobody's proficient in, but I can't sell them because they're special. And dragons, I love slaying dragons. Incidentally, does anyone know of a dragon adding mod?

3. Probably Jaheira. I'm a bit of a know it all cow :)

Darkest day has a dragon in it...plus some demons and general big things.

1. I got 147. And my girlfriend said she got 154, hm, she must be lying, girls are never that smart...(hold your weapon, I'm just kidding :D )

2. I like The Temple of The Radiant Heart (when I first entered it I said to myself "Wow, great job, guys!")
I also like the way those tiny halfling women run like crazy all over the place :D Aren't they cute? :)
There are many, many, many, so many items! And they are well done. The black&white representations in the description pages are super (I couldn't have done a better thing myself)
And, like adventurerkilly said, I like the storyline SO MUCH

3. This is hard. Lemme think...
After an hour... :) err... Half-Jan and half-Edwin probably.

1: Look at my avatar and figure out for yourself how brillliant I must be... ;)

2: At the moment summoning monsters, using spells to figure out new cheese, test new items, new spells and "try" to finally finish my new fighter kit if that stupid programme would allow me to do so just once.....
And I also keep out an eye for new easter-eggs in the game. I think I'm on the right track for one....

3:Ehhh........... BOO!!!!

1: Can't remember the score -however the doc said I was close to genius level. It must've been pretty high since my year older bro was pissed at me for it for several weeks. :o
Anyhow - IQ is of little relevance - since as we grow older we loose points in intelligence and gain wisdom instead (question is : is it a viable substitution )

2: The plot really. The sheer size of this interplanar , decades long , multiple outcomes scheme where you are but a pawn in game you cannot begin to coprehend , until you're knee deep in trouble and facing horrors you thought you got rid of the so called "last time".
That and generally the atmosphere of the world with various beings which may or may not be part of my path makes pressing New Game button so much easier then in other games...

3: Viconia I think (I'm a guy however ) - so it's your choice to decide what that means exactly.

A-ha, gotcha! Minsc asked me to hunt you down because you'd stolen the little Boo! Now you come with me for Minsc to give you some well deserved butt-kicking punishment! How will you plead, guilty, not-guilty? I'm listening but make it quick! And don't try to sweet talk to me cuz you're in big trouble, gnome. Keldorn, take him!
:D

IQ - 167 waaaaayyyy back when
Fav Part - the "team" aspect, having many characters to use instead of just you and maybe a merc or something
Who am I - hmmmmmm. that little halfling adventurer, Mazzie or whatever her name was - don't have her in my group but picked her up for a short time, she's fiesty and short (yup, that's me)
New Question - Which character from popular fantasy do you wish could be in the game, in the way that Drizzt appears? - i would love to see Jon Snow, from the George Martin books, he'd be a great fighter and interesting character.

When you find out what the "regular BG2 player" looks like, be sure and tell us all about "him". :) Your assumptions have already screened out people like me. :)

Oh, now, I hope you are just picking on the boys. They don't mean to let the machismo show, it just happens sometimes. ;)

I've just corrected that, VonDondu. I assure you I have nothing against girls/women. On the contrary :) heinleinfan, thank you for your support ;)

I'm not picking on anyone. Where did you get that idea? :)

Here are my answers to the questions posed:

The last time I took an IQ test, I was sick with the flu, half-asleep, and in a hurry to get it over with. The result? When I'm sick with the flu, half-asleep, and in a hurry to get it over with, my IQ is 135. It looks like I'm a moron compared to the rest of you. :) I did better than that on standardized tests such as the SAT and the GRE (I only took each of them once), but when a multiple-choice test puts the answers right in front of me, I feel like I was cheating. :) An interesting thing happened to me between high school and college: in high school, my math score was higher, but in college, my verbal score was higher. It was definitely a sign of shifting priorities.

I have played the Baldur's Gate series of games several times because I enjoy imaginary combat (swords-and-sorcery style), I enjoy creating and playing an imaginary hero, the Baldur's Gate series has interesting characters, quests, and dialogue, and I feel like I've done something worthwhile when I've done everything in thing in the game. I don't do a lot of fighting for truth and justice in real life, so playing these games gives me a thrill and a sense of accomplishment. I used to be involved in martial arts in real life, but I can't do that anymore because of my eyes (there's nothing majorly wrong with them now, but I'm at very high risk for suffering from a detached retina if I'm not careful).

Comparing myself to the NPCs, I guess I'm more like Imoen than any of the rest. I'm loyal and kindhearted but not very romantic. I'm very serious when I have to be, but I don't mind breaking rules, and I have a very strong irreverent streak. I take a lot of risks, and I admire Imoen for sneaking around to case the joint and clearing the way for everyone else. :)

1. IQ= 137 That was according to an online IQ test in English... can't say that I'm very good at r/w in this laguage, so it would be higher in swedish...
When I was drafted to the military we did an "Int-test" where u sit for about 2 hours and answer questions and then get a grade of 1-9... mine was 8.

2. I like everything about this game! :D I'm an old PnP player but for the last years there haven't been any chances to play... :(
BG2 is my rescue when I'm thinking of the old times...

3. i guess i'm most like Jan. :D Although I don't brake any laws  , I always play jokes on my friends. No matter what happends, u can't get me in a bad mood.

Edit: About meeting another npc in the game, based on a book character, I would like to meet Sorak, probably in the Sphere. he's a Dark Sun char who u can read about in the triology Tribe of One (The Outcast, The Seeker, The Nomad) Best D&D books i'v read!

I'm afraid that people without a high IQ probably won't post here or will inflate their scores so getting an accurate reflection of intelligence will be difficult... I guess that's just the stats classes coming out in me. Sorry.

Anyway...
Str: 9
Con: 8
Dex: 12
Int: 17-18
Wis: 16-18
Cha: 13

LG Fighter (Obviously missile weapons and tactics are my best bet)/Mage.

I enjoy making characters that reflect my own traits, soloing them, and trying to survive on insane.

1. Dumb as a post, probably. I don't recall ever hearing what my IQ was...not a peep on whether it was high, low, or somewhere in between. I think I'm on the above-average side of bright, though.

2. I'm a fan of architecture, so I love how Athkatla, in particular, and the other cities, in general, have been laid out with respect to the traffic flow and building structures and colors. The visual imagery is captivating. (sparkles in eyes)

3. I'm Jaheira for sure. I get annoyed with inactivity and inaction on the part of my companions, I'd rather be in the country or mountains (hate cities with their congestion and rushed inhabitants), and I try to maintain a balance in my life (I'm Libra).
