Does anybody know what the cumulative maximum is for the beginning roll?

My highest was 86, dunno if it can get any higher.

If it's an honest RNG...

You have 6 Stats (STR CON, DEX, WIS, INT, CHA), 18 max (I think all demi-humans that have possible stats over 18 have one or more points of penalty) so the possible total, without fiddling is 108 - of course the probability of rolling that honestly is 1/(6^18), or about 1 in 10^14.

My highest roll ever was 14-19-17-16-17-17

Which makes precisly 100 in total :p :D

Havent been lucky with such a high roll since then. I mostly dont bother rolling anymore and simply edit my stats and abilities with SK.

I've had a 97. I usually try and get at least 90 these days.

Started over for the third time and I have a monk now (18 Str, 18 Dex, 18 Con, 10 Int, 18 Wis, 7 Cha)

Hope I can kick ass even more this time than with my Fighter/Mage :D

just out of curiosity, has anyone ever recorded a 108 roll?
if 4 perfect hands have been dealt in bridge before, surely this can happen to :)

I once rolled six 18s when I was playing pen-and-paper D&D. But the highest rolls I've ever gotten in BG1/BG2 totalled less than 100.

My best roll ever was a natural 6 18's, with strength being 18/99 (just short of the /00 bonus, which is why I remember it). That was... an amazing roll. I was so shocked I didn't pay attention and hit the button to restore my saved roll... That sucked.

Yep, what else do you expect from UU? :p Although, I like to think of it as more of a 'shortcut', since I'd just spend an hour trying to get perfect stats anyway :)

Four perfect hands happens surprisingly often. It seems that if you open a new pack of cards (or for some other reason start with the cards lined up by suit) and then do four perfect bridge shuffles in a row, then when you deal they will be perfect hands.

Anyhow.

I don't re-roll a lot, because it seems like a stupid way to make the game easy for you. If the designers wanted everyone to have over 90 combined stats, why would they have rolling at all?

My rational for higher than average stats is that since I'm "the" child of Bhaal I should have fairly good or better stats.

I usually have a good idea of what I want for stats depending on the character class so I try for awhile before breaking out shadowkeeper :D
