well...if your a DM you should have a Player's Handbook it gives you a list of races/classes/equip and so on. it will also give you details on the classes like bonuses and stuff. But heres some you could use.

Elf
Wood Elf
Moon Elf
Dark Elf A.K.A Drow (evil)
Half-Elf
Human
Dwarf
Druegar ((sp?) evil)
Halfling
Gnome
Half-Orc ( I STRONGLY reccomend you don't use it)

and there more but you really should get the Player's Handbook

More than one of my campaigns has been destroyed by the wicked halfness of the half-orc...

What's the problem with half orc's?
I have a half orc in the quest I'm DM'ing and don't have any problems with it.

half-orcs?

oh, c'mon... half-orcs were "made" to be destroyed, not to be used as characters. they are the guys that will give us XP, not the ones we will help gain xp. think about that, and... uh... sorry if my english is a little... ok, you understand.

I'm sorry, but I have no idea what you're saying.

I think he means that, half orcs are good to kill and thus get XP.
But not to have one in your party and get XP fighting with you.

Well, I still seriously think of them as a PC race, the only real problem that I've got with them is that there is an entire subrace coming from the, probably, forced matings of humans and orcs.

I think that half-orcs can be very useful as pcs. If you have a new player, they can be a half-orc. They will not be expected to do a ton of thinking, so the player can hack and slash, but also watch how other players do it and learn. Then when they have a new character, they can practice what they have seen and you can kill the old character for xp. So you see, it helps everyone out in their own way.

just a question...

... how often do you guys change characters? (to a new one, of course)

When an old one dies, I get bored of the old one, or start a new campaign.

Some people stay with one character for a long time.
Someone I know has had the same character for some years now.
