Hi All,

I have a level 12 paladin that should be able to use his spell casting ability by now and he is unable to.

He can use his "Domain" spells such as "Smite Evil" ect but when trying to access the spells in his spellbook although they are memorised, they will not highlight for use?

Can anyone enlighten me as to what may be the reason for this?

Well, Paladins, like clerics, require a wisdom of 10 + level of spell trying to be cast (11 for level 1 spells, 12 for level 2, etc.) Chance are, your Paladin doesn't have a high enough wisdom stat.

I just caught this one in a search of the archives.

I have a level 7 paladin (the Watcher, from the preset parties) that can't cast spells and he has a wisdom of 14. Any ideas what's going on there?

you must add the correct button in the bar:

simply right-click with the mouse in the bar and add the "cast spell" button (like sorceror, wizards, clerics etc...)

I had the same problem with my pally, spells memorized but unable to cast spells until add the correct button in the bar

How very strange. I guess my experience playing other Baldur's Gate games didn't help me out here.
