Problems with Tomi

Hi, I've had many problems solved by reading this forum (BG, BGII, IWD, ...). Now I'm playing NWN and couldn't find a solution to the problem I'm now facing.

I'm in chapter 1 and using Tomi (whatshisname) as a henchman. Since he's fragile in melee and good with the bow I order him to use ranged weapons. This worked very well untill I patched the game. Now he always uses melee weapons, whatever his orders.

I tried to solve the problem by downloading a pack from NW-Vault that gives you access to the inventory of henchmen. This didn't solve the problem but made me understand what was wrong: Tomi exhausts his arrows immediatly. Now matter how many arrows I give him, he exhausts them after one or two shots.

Anyone experienced this or know what to do? I'm playing a fighter, so help from Tomi is indispensible. Without him I don't know how to continue the game.

Figured, it out myself. The problem is that Tomi's own bow (which has unlimited ammo) has a level of 11 required. Once I changed the ini-file to disable the level requirements, the problem was solved.

Still odd.

backstab?

Tomi can be really nice in melee if you can keep the attention of the target so that he can get a good backstab or two in.

In fact (don't know if it's a bug or as it should), when firing his bow, his attacks are also considered as sneak ones.

Well- in NwN (not sure about the 3/3.5 rules, I haven't checked), sneak attack can be done by bow. My own rogues does this also.

Yes this is in the rules, but limited to 20 foot distance for ranged sneak attacks.
