Well, this being my 3rd run through the game I've been trying some strange things. I remember a post a while back about Jaxarle in Ust Natha. After being tricked into saving stealing him jewls twice, I decided it was time for payback. Unfortunatly i couldn't attack him on my first visit to his pocket plane, but after accusing him of 'using' me, and not backing down (despite not knowing if I could get back) I DID get the option to fight his sorry ass. Needless to say, a level 20+ monk and berserker with 4 and 9 attacks respectively made VERY short work of them. It was damn enjoyable though

The other thing that caught me by surprise was my dialouge with Soulafein. The previous two times I had told him simply to give me his cloak and leave, but after exploring the conversation a little more I found that he was a worshipper of Elisimme (wrong spelling, but the normal elven god), and that he would try to 'gather others like him'... I did have the option to ask him into my party but he refuses (sigh) now that would be a character I'd LOVE to have. (I would take him to Sarevok in the expansion any day)

heh, I played the Jaxarle quest and I usually return the gems to him, but the last 2 times through I said screw him and left the jewles in the closet. I was able to finish the the rest of Ust Natha without him setting off the alarm...screw that guy, I used him!

who is jaxarle is that this fish in the tank??
i that chase u can get some nice exp uotof him just by making him nuts
just follow the right lines in the dialoge and u get him so far that he wil not blow your cover but let u go.
u get to say things like:
'Why would i listen to u, u are just a stupid fish in a tank. i'm not afreed of u."
And he says:
'What manner of creature are u, u are strange, away with u.'

and u are around 200000 exp richer

Jaxarle is part of the quest where late in Ust Natha a guy will sell you a rope to allow you entry to the Lich's house. You are then ported away and told to get these gems or he blows your cover, he only give you a day to to do this. Turns out that's plenty of time to finish and get the hell out.

sorry didn't know that any more but he lets u kidnap the princes not the gems my mistake
what is the name from that fish and did u all know about that making the fish confiused ??

The fish in the tank is an aboleth, btw...
