If you tell Lothander to bog off in Baldurs Gate, do you die from poisoning ten days later?

Yep.

But you can usually complete the game within 10 days, by that point, so it isn't a big loss. This happened to me the 2nd time I played. (The first time I didn't do much exploring in the city, since I took Scar seriously when he said he needed his quests done ASAP.)

IRC Scar is serious with the ring quest when he want's it done asap.

Plus you can get a nice amount of exp for the gease quest.
But I don't like doing it, so I always kill them before they even come near me.

If you want to make up for the loss of exp. rest 10 days in the Flesh Ogre cave.

or kill Tazok TWICE in the camp. (and 3rd time in the end of the game).

Just to let you know - I did tell him to bog off. Some time later, after wiping out the baddies at the Iron Throne headquarters, My whole party suddenly became ill and started puking. Quote`They suddenly remembered Maleks threat`Uquote.

So, you can either load, get cured in a couple of days or die.
The geas quest isn't that hard, and it has a couple of nice rewards.
