So how good is this game really?
Compared to the greatest game in the genre, "Baldur's Gate II: Shadows of Amn"?
I'm really intrested in buying it, but since I tried "Lionheart" my hopes on todays RPG:s are really low.. Since i'm comparing every game I try to "BG2"...sadly..
Tell me..about "Temple of Elemental Evil"..

If you are more into PnP and like indulged in the ability to save and reload ToEE is the best game ever (so far). Graphically it both parallels and surpasses BG2, no repetative backgrounds, a fully detailed town to roam, and elabourate dungeons to explore. In terms of game play it cuts through all the crap you had to deal with in BG with its "advanced real-time game engine that allows you to pause at anytime" bull, COMBAT IS TURN BASED! which in the end saves you a lot of frustration. Plot-wise ToEE is not as deep as the BG series, but there are a lot of quest some more submersive than others.
Major draw backs:
-Bad voice acting and not enough voiceovers (lets face it everyone and their dog could have spokeup in this game.)
-Not eoungh music, and the musical score in general was dull and rather melancoly.
-Kind of short, but suitable to the story.
-Only up to level 10, perplexing consdering they throw you up against 30HD creatures.
-Buggy as hell, if you do plan to buy this game make sure you have the patch already downloaded.
-Incomplete! You will find out via NPC dialogue that there was meant to be a lot more to this game than there is. example Meleny: "I hope that vampire doesn't come back again!", what excuse me? I see my gothic surroundings and a coffin (or the like) but I didn't fight a vampire! Hopefully a free "expansion" that fills in all these gaps is released.
The above may make it seem like I'm not all that found of this game, but the opposite is true... I f-ing love this game!

Aye, my opinion of the game is that it is loads of fun provided you aren't looking for a 'deep' gaming experince, although I must stress that you really should wait until the patch is released (And perhaps until
The Circle of Eight has a chance to fix any bugs that the offical patch misses given the likely wait for the second patch.).

The BG stuff is more like a cross between an adventure and a shooter, like the various console toys that are mistakenly called RP, but with some bits of RP crafted on in a clunky way. It isn't comparable to REAL CRPG's at all.

So all you want is Diablo or Dungeon Siege. Happily, this isn't one of those. It is the bare bones of an excellent game. The combat works, the magic is workable, but there's no story as such, and interaction with other living things in the game is extemely limited when it is compared to what it might be.
I'd like to have seen the NWN story with the ToEE combat system.

Quality
I have played gold box and and black box games that are better quality!!!I have more fun right now finding my way around buggs and watching creatures appear inside walls..The game should have been beta tested before release..

Maybe you mean the BG: Dark Alliance products? Because that really doesn't describe the main BG2 titles, Shadows of Amn, and the add-on, Throne of Bhaal.
