A question from Norway
When I was in the Asylum Dungeon, I suddenly turned into a big red beast called the slayer. After a while I was told I could turn inte the slayer at will.
Is turning into the slayer a good idea?

@Janhans, hi. Welcome to the forum. I'm changing your thread title, because it doesn't really give any sense of your question, and I'm adding a designation of SPOILER to it. If you'll read the site owner's sticky thread at the top of the page, we've had a lot of complaints about spoiler material being stated in such a way that new players (who want to discover things for themselves) run into it without warning.
Now, onto your question.
Turning into the Slayer can be very useful, depending upon circumstances. You become extremely powerful as the Slayer, capable of rending opponents with a single attack. However, the Slayer power was never meant to be wielded by a mortal, so that your body suffers the longer you stay as the Slayer: watch your hit points if you become the Slayer, and end that power before it kills you.
Note, too, everytime you turn into the Slayer your reputation drops 2 points. I don't know how the rest of the world finds out about it, but somehow, they do.
So it's great if you're running a party of mixed good and bad types, and your reps going too high; but it's bad if you've got a good/neutral party, who will object to the loss of reputation and ultimately leave you if it gets too low.
Hope that helps a bit. I'm sure others can add more.

well depends if you are playing a good guy or bad guy
the slayer is increadibly strong , but each time transforming into him reduces your reputation by a few points, and if i remember it does something else but cant realy remember what it is

Couple of things
1. Slayer is useful for keeping Viconia, Korgan, etc. (all the evil party members) in your group since you can just turn into the slayer and lose rep points.
2. Use the slayer for too long (your character sounds like hes been hit 3-4 times) and you die, you should get a message saying something like your getting dizzy or something like that. THen its a good time to turn back into your normal self.
3. Slayer is just about immune to magic I think, and sets all your stats to 25. Its great against a lot of enemies in Underdark, but its not neccesary to use it to get through underdark unless your rushing through the game.
