I was just curious. I have never used the A.I. or the scripts while playing the game. Opting to idividualy control each character and using the pausing features to make the game more pnp style.
Anybody out there use the A.I and the scripts?? or want to comment on the A.I and scripts??

Just to say that I agree with you...I like ot have more direct control over my party's reactions. I feel I can strategize better with the AI off.

Depends on the situation, I usually use Paladin melee for my fighter/cerics if its a fight I know they can handle. If not(Dragon)I take control and I'm always control my mages.
But that's me

I use standard attack script for my fighters and no script for my spellcasters

Ranged sucks, the character runs a long distance away(max range of the weapon, I'd guess), then starts firing, but if he's in a confined space(i.e. room, dungeon) he runs against the wall and stands aroung picking his nose...::sigh::

I am using scripts heavily. 70% of fights are completed by AI. 25% of fights are completed by AI with my supervising (a few commands during the fight). 5% of fights are done manually.
I recommend to patch the scripts before using them. Make your scripts "fight only" and control everything else by yourself. Also, add a block into the thief's script so that the thief will fight if there are enemies around and search for traps if no enemies are in sight.

There are a couple of useful scripts, like Thief Adventuerer, which automatically turns on Search for Traps every time it is disabled. Also useful are ones that automatically hide you in Shadows. If you ever need to be visible, or don't when them to do this for a while, you just disable the AI.
Wish I'd known about the traps script earlier, having to turn Search for Traps back on every 5 seconds was a pain.

I'm going to have to agree with quitch. Probably the only useful script is the adventurer script. The cleric/druid script used to heal people who's hitpoints are reduced to 50% is not bad either, but most of the scripts really suck.

I had a script on unintentionally and my fighter drank a healing potion when he didnt take any damage.
I only turn on AI to the standard attack if I'm fooling around with my fighter.
