i am a mac user and anxiously await the TOB expansion due out in a couple of weeks. i have tried to find the answer to my question on the board but nothing clearly states what i am asking (or so nothing i found).

if i install SOA & TOB at the SAME time will i be able to surpass the SOA limit for exp before i leave SOA? in other words does the limit become 8 million with TOB installed? could i reach the final battle with jon-boy with 4million exp and the corresponding level?

secondly will starting a SOA game and installing TOB allow me to do the same or not.

thirdly are there any other real differences which impact whether I install TOB before i start my SOA agame of just install TOb before i finish SOA?

thank you

Not familiar with Mac but I would assume the game works identical to PC version. Yes, TOB will expand the XP limit of your SoA characters. If you start an SoA game and later install ToB your XP limit will be expanded, so if you are currently playing a SoA game and want to install ToB midway thru your party should benefit from all the ToB changes. Third, if you install TOB along with SoA and start a SoA game you will have access to Watcher's Keep in SoA. With ToB you also get special inate abilities for various char classes at higher levels. The biggest thing with installing ToB is the Patches. In the PC version SoA had a patch. But if you installed ToB it also incorporated a patch to SoA that was even more up to date (meaning you could forget about the SoA patch). Then in the PC version you also had a ToB patch. So in the PC version you would install SoA, ToB and the ToB patch in that order (not that these fixed all the problems which is where the unofficial Baldurdash patches come in). I would hope that a new Mac release would negate the need for either a SoA or ToB patch.

Also a Mac user, but my understanding was that there would be no ToB for the Mac.
