Hi I'm a newbie to both Icewind Dale 2 and this forum

I have real irritating problem with my sorceror.....I can't get him to cast spells!!!!

the level one spells I have chosen are grayed out and the tool tip says that they are "beyond caster ability" or something like that! I know there must be something obvious I haven't done.

THanks for the help in advance.

he, if you would have read a bit down you would have seen a thread i made thats exacly the same problem
your scorcerer probably has low charisma and he needs more
get Dale Keeper 2 if you want to edit, or start over

Are you not allowed to create your class before choosing attributes? The class screen details what the required attributes are.

Charisma affects a Sorceror's spells' DC ("Difficulty Class"), which directly affects how hard it is for enemies to save against their spells.

To make the most powerful sorceror you need either:

A human with 18 Char

or:

an Aasimar with 20 Char and 12 int

A wind elf makes a decent sorceror as well, but not as good as the human and Aasimar can be.

If you are going to have a spellcaster-heavy party, you may as well have both a human sorceror and an aasimar sorc, to get the best of both worlds.

When having 2 spellcasters i wouldnt suggest 2 sorcerers but a sorcerer and a plain wizzard or an wizzardspecialist.

Also elfs make good sorcerers cause they start with the abilaty to use bows
