Bezerk question [spoiler?]

When a character goes bezerk you are unable to give it any commands and I noticed that more hazardously it may attack party members in its state of mind. A very interesting mod to say the least.

I had the following in mind for character customisation, more specifically NPC customisation. I am planning to pick Tiax when I get into Baldur's Gate and set him up with Kiel's items and from the morning star he would gain the bezerk mod. It is perfect for his insane personage and his alignment.
Now I want him to act like a bezerker, but of course not all the time. In order to keep him "sane" (for as far you can say that of Tiax himself) I was hoping to use one of the following play-tactics:
This is where the question comes in...

I can of course always let him memorise remove curse so he can drop the weapon from time to time, but I had a few more nifty ideas to keep him out of his bezerk state. On these I require some information since I also haven't gone to Durlag's Tower yet to get the gear.

1. Spiritual Hammer or Shillelagh (flameblade is druid only, correct) overwrites the weapon held in both damage and visualisation. However, does it also disable the Bezerk mod? This would be handy in areas where I want him sane and using his clerical or thieving abilities. He would do less damage but he would be nicely under control.
2. Does chaotic commands effect the character to ignore the Bezerk inflicted by items or does it not?
3. And do potions of mirror eyes, potions of clarity or some other kind of mind blocking potions maybe disable the ability to Bezerk?

As you can see I did some good thinking and I wondered... why wouldn't this be impossible? This can of course also have interesting results for usage of the cursed two-handed sword of bezerking.

Thanks in advance.

As far as know, if he is Beserk, having any of those ideas probably would not work, as you are unable to issue commands for that NPC. The only one I could see working would be the Remove Curse spell.

Yes, when in beserk mode I wouldn't be able to do these thihngs, but if I scout ahead to locate enemies and then use one of the tactics beforehand, thus before I go beserk... kind of like prebuffing... in theory some of these should work right.

I'm still only in chapter 3 so it is not a pressing question, though some verification would be nice. I'll at least give my feedback once I get to test it out

very interesting idea! go crazy in the usual fights, stay calm & cast spells in the tough ones... do tell if it works!
