Picked up the game yesterday, was having a really good time with it until Dantooine. Now my game crashes 95% of the time whenever I leave an area to transition to a new one.

Any suggestions?

I've tried a fresh install. I've tried using older saves. Nothing seems to be making very much difference. I'm betting the problem is related to the damn SecuRom copy protection scheme on the disks. I normally wouldn't ask something like this, but since I'm stuck unable to play the game I have, in fact, bought and paid for.... has anyone seen a no CD crack for this game yet? I ask simply as a way to get around the SecuROM scheme which I'm guessing is my entire problem.

Have you checked the tech areas on the official KotoR boards? If it's a known issue, they may already have some suggestions posted.

I've looked. It's a known issue in as much as numerous people have reported it, but the company still hasn't officially acknowledged it. They've released one beta patch already, to take care of some truly awful hardware problems that never, ever should have been allowed out the door... but that patch unfortunately only fixes two very specific hardware problems.

It's a considerable relief, as I'm quite enjoying this game. HK-47 is making it onto my list of Best. NPCs. Ever.
