Xbox - Holyman - Sand people BUG! Help please!

OK so heres the deal... I agreed to fix the problem with the sandpeople killing and whatnot outside of Anchorhead. I told the female from the corporation i would bring back the holy mans "ghafi stick" to prove that i killed him.
So then i journey into the Dune Sea and i am standing next to the sand crawler, outside of Anchorhead when the holy man and his 2 goon friends attack me. Well it took some thought and use of force push but i was able to get them by themselves [or stunned] long anough to slash em up good. Problems is, after i kill the 2 guys and the holy man, he didnt drop his *holyman's stick*! WTF? Is this an XBOX bug? Any help is much appreciated!
