same leveling for all characters?

I generally prefer to play with straight vanillia classes (cleric, fighter, thief) because their faster leveling in my mind out weights the benefits of specialized types like bards, rangers, etc. I was very dissappointed to see that all my characters level at the same xp's. Is this the new 3.5 version of D&D rules the game manual brags about?

Beginning with third edition D and D rules (and now edition 3.5 which is used in this game) all character classes advance at the same rate - on the same experience table. However, some of the classes don't access their special abilities until higher levels. This was an attempt to retain balance in the game. At least that is what WotC said...
Hope that answers your question.

Also, your divine and arcane classes have to spend XP to make magic items, scrolls and potions. Therefore, they will begin to lag behind the other classes after a while if you're heavy into item creation.
