1. When I'd killed the Bandit Leader and his minions in the Moathouse, I received the XP and then got two "Search - success" messages automatically.

I can't seem to find anything out of the ordinary in the room. All that I found is the dead bandits and the two exits (down and outside). Is there something else that I should be looking for ?


2. After killing the big pack of zombies on the dungeon level (near the ogre) and moving into the 'kitchen' looking area, I pressed Tab and saw a flashing area on a pillar that opened when I clicked on it. I read that it is a teleporter, but I can't get it to work at all. How do I get it to work ?

I don't know about the first question, but on the second one, click on the area and it will look like a panel opens up on the pillar. Then take your character with the best search skill and do a concentrated search on the pillar. You'll find a ladder.

Regarding question 1

I think the answer to your first question is that one of the exits, the one that goes outside, is a secret door. That's probably what they found. I found it from outside and came into that room from there.
