I have a assassin and some questions.
Backstab=>You can only backstab once or when your have high hide in shadows you can backstab and still invisible.
Move Silentily=>What does it do?It helps in Hide in Shadows?
Rune Assassin=>Why they can backstab without begin behind you?
Staff of the Magi=> I can use it with the Use Any Item but how I will usei t to backstab?because when you put another weapon you become visable, and staffs are not suitable to backstab.
Weapon=>What weapon is better for backstab?I'am using Celstial Fury or Short sword +2.
Assassination=>what this HLA do?
Hide in Shadows=>If you have a really high stats(like200)you can Hide In Shadows when enemys are seeing you?
Thiefs and Kits=>Only assassin can backstab with a x7 multiplyer?
The last one=>someone have soloed one before?I'am currently at lvl 19 it's a lot of fun.

You can backstab only once, then you will leave the shadows and have to hide again.

You can only backstab with items usable by thieves (this includes staves) but the staff of magi isnt usable by thiefes

Celestial fury is a great backstabbing weapon. The staff of Ram is the best

thank you a lot.But with use any item ability you can use staff of the magi...and with how many points in detect invisible you can start to detect invisibility spells?I read somewhere that improved invisibility helps(thief/mage) with backstab but when you do one backstab the enemies attack you it's the same as invisibility...

Celestial fury is a great backstabbing weapon. The staff of Ram is the best
move silently allows you to RE-ENTER shadows quickly...so the higher the skill, you can click on hide in shadows again immediately after making an attack, and pop back in, ready for another attack...dundee at ironworks clarified this, and this suggests an interesting strategy...put no points in hide, all points in move silently...send your assassin far away from party to hide, and using a good assassin script, make multiple backstabs per round without using mislead...
staff can be used with use any item, however since it is not flagged as a thief weapon under near infinity, you cannot backstab with it...it can be flagged by near infinity...however this would be very very naughty...
staff of ram is the best...staff of striking is second best until you get to watcher's keep...

around 100 you can detect invisible...
this is an excellent ability, btw...tactics mod, improved mages and liches like to use improved invisible with spell immunity divination, but detect invisible around 150 will work every time...

That depends on what style of playing you like.
Take Assassin if you like backstabbing, they can dish out enormous amount of damage with good weapons/equipment.
Additionally they can coat their weapons in poison, especially useful when backstabing mages (because the poison probably prevents them from casting spells). The disadvantage is that you'll have very few points in your thieving skills in the beginning (because Assassins only get 15 points/level instead of 25).
Swahbucklers are more durable than normal thieves because of their bonus to AC, and are better suited for direct combat. You'll have plenty of thieving skills soon that you can put in "auxilliary" skills like Detect Illusions or Pick Pocketing. The drawback is they can't backstab at all.
The Bountyhunter is the master of traps, though I wouldn't solo him unless you have the rogue rebalancing mod. The reason is that his special traps actually become worse at higher levels. After lvl 11 they are best, because they stun their targets, but at level 16 (Otiluke's Resilient Sphere on targets) and 21 (Maze) they prevent you from attacking the target, though they can neither attack you. The mod makes them more viable because the traps are useful later on.

The best way for thieves to backstab is with potions of invisibility. If you have a mage/thief, you can cast mislead and leave the visible image behind for multiple backstabs.
