Must be a nice friend ;)

Anyway, I would confront him and tell him to remove the levels, or be kicked from the campaign. Nobody likes cheaters.

I'd give him a penalty level too.
Makes me realise how lucky I am with my current group. :D

Personally, I think he should be totally kicked out. If he is willing to cheat on something so petit as a few levels, who knows what else he is willing to do to improve his character.

well, i wouldnt kick the player out unless this was like a "last straw" sort of thing, or unless this is commonplace with all your players. I am assuming that the rest of your group doesnt do this sort of thing, but if they do then i agree that it is time to "clean house" as it were. At the same time though, if this player was seriously trying to pull a fast one like this (it wasnt a joke), then you cant let that player just get away with it. Otherwise, what message are you sending to the players who do follow the rules? I suggest a little "blue lightning" or some strange coincidences where the biggest baddie always seems to target a certain PC (your cheater). Sure, it will be obvious that you are singling this PC out, but it will be justice served, and your other PC's will appreciate that you are sticking up for those of them who do earn their rewards the honest way.

I had a guy in my group who played with a loaded D20. How petty is THAT? It took ages for me to catch up, and I only figured it out after the owner of the local gaming store told me my player had ordered a loaded die some months before. So I didn't tell him I was on to him, I just told the other players, and then I made his character's life a living hell. There was not a monster that didn't attack him, not a trap he didn't walk into, no disease, curse or full chamber pot that didn't hit him. By the time he resigned, his character was semi-blind, one-armed, penniless and had a bad case of acne. ;)

Yep, that's how I would handle it. Aswell as with the levelling-player. Don't say anything, just kill the player and let him make a new character that is one lvl lower than the other PC's.

Het Rudar, does your 'limb wizard' avatar look smaller or is it just me?
