Dragon Disciplie, Epic Levels and Wizards

I have a few questions concerning leveling above 20, and the Dragon Disciple Prestige Class:
- In the description of the Dragon Disciple prestige class, when they speak of "Epic levels, 21+", do they mean levels in the actual prestige class, or the total amount of levels? For instance if I have a level 14 Sorcerer, level 9 Dragon Disciple, does it count as level 9 (Dragon Disciple level) or as level 23 (14 + 9) for the purpose of acquiring Epic Levels of the Dragon Disciple class?
- If I level one of the "standard" classes above 20, what are the benefits of continuing to level with that class? For instance, if I have a Wizard, leveling above 20 does not give you any higher levels of spells (since there are none), and I haven't seen any notes that suggests more feats or anything else that would be attractive. Thus, isn't the logical step to multiclass the character with a class that will give the character more "rewards per level" so to say?
