Can`t find Vithal - Spoiler

I`m in the underdark and I`ve got Vithal`s book, but I can`t find him. I wiped out the air elementals and the earth elementals before I met Vithal.
Hope I haven`t messed it up.

Vithal is Entrapped - Spoiler

Vithal has to be freed from his entrapment. Buy a Freedom spell from the deep gnome merchants at the bottom of the map. Put it in a quickslot and use it. It will free Vithal. Now find him - he should be a little north of the gnome merchants. Killing the elementals in advance of freeing him does not affect the quest and is probably a good idea.

Thanks, I got there in the end. I`d allready freed him. I was looking for him to give him the book.
I hate that underdark place. So confusing!
