I am trying to work my way thru Dragon's Eye, but I cannot find the modified mandrake root. I put Mandal's spirit to rest and watched the cutscene, but when I go look, I cannot find it.

Any help is appreciated.

He should show you where it is when you put his spirit to rest.

He takes you down to the Alc Lab (where there is a big serpant on the floor). Instead of turning into the Alc Lab, its directly behind that wall, where you can see stair leading up to the next level.

Therefore, go up a level and then click on the map. Search for a Wyvern nest, should be near to the chest you should of loot'd earlier on. Head for the nest and it is down the stairs. Press ALT and it will reveal its self.

Go back to the Priest in the jail (as such) and he tells you to put it on the Alc Lab so you can create some potion.

Yeah but . . .

I did all that and there is nothing to be found. It should be under a rock in the ancient wyverns lair, right ? It's not. I DID find some mandrake root there earlier (b4 putting the spirit to rest), but it doesn't say a thing about being modified. Yeah, I've read thru the walkthru and it isn't helpful.

Anyone else ?

I think the mandrake root in the wyvern cave is modified. But in your case you may have found it to soon. If you can not go back to an older save, I suggest you download DaleKeeper2 and add the item to your inventory. This is an editor for saved games in IceWind Dale2. Save a game then try it. You can find it under the sticky thread at the top of this forum. Or you can search for it in this forum, I know I have a thread with it in it under the search topic, Bards. You can also try searching for other threads with modified mandrake root in it, There have been a lot of them.

I downloaded dalekeeper and became confused when I tried to use it. Then I downloaded dalekeeper TWO and added modified mandrake root to my inventory. Problem solved. Thanks !
