The party is:
me-i don't know if I do a thief/druid or pure druid....
cernd
jaheira
there anren't any other durid npc so I think I will take aerie for some cleric and mage spells....

Druid/Thief isn't a possible multi or dual class, though it could perhaps be "emulated" with some good amount of SK editing.

I would definetly choose a kit over a normal druid. The pets of the Totemic Druid a very good, at least early in the game. They can do Irenicus' dungeon all on their own. The additional forms of the Avenger are pretty useful early on, too. The Swordspider is especially useful with 5 attacks/round and chance to poison.

The only really interesting Druid spell is Insect Plague (and its 7th level variant Creeping Doom). These are good for disrupting spellcasters.
I imagine if you are going to be soloing, you should focus on summoning animals to do your melee fighting. I would tend to use a sling as the major weapon to keep the Druid out of melee combat, but there are a couple of decent staves that only druids can use, so you need to decide if they are worth it.
There is a thread around here of someone who soloed a Druid all the way from BG1. Not being particularly partial to Druids, I can't be much more help, I'm afraid.

Jaheira is the best druic NPC, I believe. Plus I love her romance. Also it is best you go with pure druid, and I always found acorns and beauty great high level specials...

Nature's Beauty, Insect Plague and Ironskins are probably the best spells. Some even call them utter cheese. Personally I prefer either an avenger or a totemic druid. The summoning skills from the beastmaster are in my opinion not very impressive.

Oh, yeah. I forgot about Ironskins. But I haven't had much use for Nature's Beauty. But I suppose if you are doing an all druid party, that would be a good time to test it out.

incredibly useful spell... the slay effect is negliable, and not worth counting on, but the blinding effect CANNOT BE SAVED...will instantly blind all enemies within effect radius...only magic resistance will stop it, or blindness immunity...

Shapeshifters RULE!
Taking a druid with you is a great plan...especially a shapeshifter.
They are incredible. You can cast a quick spell like "Insect Plague" and then change to a werewolf and watch the beating begin.
Creeping Doom is even better. You pratically don't need fighters with a successful cast of this sucker.

Well that answers the question, "What is it?" but it still doesn't answer the question, "What does it do?" I'd answer the question myself, but I installed it at the same time as TOB, and I know TOB also made changes to the class, so I'm not sure what changes are from what.

ToB lowered AC of the greater werewolf form. I think it was supposed to change the claws so they are enchanted to hit +3 but it was forgotten. If you look at greater werewolf in shadowkeeper you see that the ToB one has different claws than you get in your GW form. I changed this myself and with those claws it is wuite balanced and fun to play.
Now the shapeshifter rebalancing however... it changes the regeneration to that of the greater wolfwere... you can cast spells while in GW form, your saves become that of the GW in the game(this may be ok) some cleric spells can now be cast by druids DUHM is one. The 6th level summon cavebear becomes ultrapowerful. Overall it turns the shapeshifter into a juggernaut.

hmm... Which one made the transformation an item? I seem to recall it used to be a special ability that worked automatically (like the normal druid shapeshifting abilities)... But now in my games it just creates the paw icon in my inventory and can be equipped and unequipped at will.
I only ask because having it as an item means that rogues with UAI can equip it. Certain things make it disappear, and I haven't figured out exactly what or why, but especially in TOB, it's easy enough to just have Cernd hanging out in your Abyssal Fortress, have him join, take his shapeshift, boot him out, and head back to battle with your werewolf rogue. You can even disarm traps and pick locks with your paws. I play a swashbuckler, so I don't know if you can backstab or not. If somebody wanted to find out, I'd appreciate it.
