Okay I flippin thru the monster manuel and I had a question about CR. Like Goblin's they have a Challendge rating of 1/4 what does that mean is it a CR of 1 or a CR of 4? Doesn't really make sense to me I don't wanna be throwing tuff mosters at my low level guys now could someone explain this to me please thanks!

It's neighter 1 nor 4.
It's one fourth, ¼.
One level 1 group can take 4, ¼ monster pretty easily.
A CR of 1 simply means that a gang of 4 adventurers can take the creature without much effort.
If you wan't to make the fight hard, you pick some higher CR monsters or send in some more lower CR ones.
A possibility is to make a level 1 group run into 2 or 3 CR 1 creatures or 1 CR 2 or 3 for a real hard fight. Chances are that one of your characters could get killed.
Let me know if it's clear or if you need some more info.
Good luck.

cr?
when you're preparing an adventure, do you look at the cr? there are some high cr creatures wich are pretty easy to kill. that means nothing... and another thing, you must be unexperienced as a DM, right? I think DMs must not stop their characters from dying. you put on an adventure what you want. I was DM'ing once, and there they were, two Earth Elementals, just blocking a passage (a cleric was trying to escape when the rest of the group was in a battle), they were immobile, he attacked him, and got killed... pretty simple. keep playing...

it's only a matter of experience...
both DM and PCs experiences bring interest to the game. keep playing and you'll see...

what story?
"what story are you playing?" are you guys some "net adventures adventurers"? play original stories, draw a map, create npc's... that's the good thing when you're a DM. Endless nights creating worlds, characters, cities, everything...

I've written my current story myself to, but for the first story you are DM'ing I'd advice a pre-written story.

I'm using my own story I have written out. I got some set events to happen. But I know I can have too much planed out cause it might blow up in my face. And it went really good They like how i tell the story and that I made custom maps for my town, Wilderness fights and such. Seems to be going great so far.

Great DMs...
... start like this, a good story, is a good start. if players like your DM'ing, they will want you as a DM in their adventures. but... you have a character too, right? or are you just a dm?
