Stuck on Manaan sea floor

I just got out on the sea floor and keep getting killed by the big fish. I read in the walkthrough to use the sonic emitter to kill them, but when they are highlighted as enemies (red outline) and approach I don't have any combat options that I can use. Do I need to somehow equip my character with the sonice emitter before I put on the enviro suit and go through the airlock??
Please help otherwise I will just be fish food.

Just use it. It is already activated in your items slots. Just klick on it when the fishes approach.
The biggest fish though is stopped bit different. Just check the walkthrough

Sounds easy, but unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any option to click it. It doesn't come up as a clickable option when the fish approaches. Is there something else I need to do?

Uhm it also didnt appear automatically in the item slots for me...you have to open your maininventory and search the generator and activate it there and then it appears on your item slot....hope that helps.
