My cleric, the only guy in the party with break enchantment, was charmed by the Balrog in the fire node. I have tried every thing I can think of to get rid of the charm, but it won't go away. What do I do?

Load from a previous save :)

Look around for a scroll :)

Maybe you can charm him with a wizard, and get him back...

Any Luck Breaking the Charm?

Did you ever remove the charm from your cleric?

Having just narrowly defeated the Balrog at the end of the fire node, I find that one my characters is also charmed and nothing I have tried to date has removed the charm.

So far, I have tried:

1) Break Enchantment
2) Restoration
3) Dispel Magic
4) Remove Curse

Any suggestions on how to rid myself of this this charm would be greatly appreciated.

I haven't had this problem, but charms should have a duration. If you can, resting long enough should allow the duration to run out normally.

I thought the same but after resting for over fifty days with out the charm wearing off, I gave up on that approach.

After several unsuccessful attempts at removing the curse, we elected to just finish the game with charmed character in tow. Definitely a let down when coupled with the disappointing ending.

Yeah, after that kick butt opening movie I was expecting something more than a picture of a book and some guy talking.

solution

This is a bit extreme, but it will definitely get your character uncharmed. Kill your charmed character and then use a raise dead spell or scroll on them. Since your charmed character is your cleric, you might have some trouble with this...but it will definitely fix the problem.
