I found an easy method was stay on the move, and use grenades. Plasma's worked very well. Concussion, if he fails the save, and CyroBan grenades. He's equally dangerous in Melee and ranged, but you probably have a better better in melee, as he doesn't use critical shot.

That's what I did, hit my shields, run to one side, lob a grenade, go to the other side repeat. Hit shields as needed. Takes a lot of frag, he usally saves and you only get 10d, but they are cheaper. I've never had much success with concussion, though.

Spoiler!!

When you leave the Apartment building your hideout is in go across the Plaza to the cantina, all the way back past the Kebla Yurt's shop. Go past the Pazaak player inside and go into the room to your left as you enter the bar area. When you enter the room 2 NPC's will talk about a fight. You watch a cutscene, and then can talk to the Hutt at the back of the room about your Dueling career. It's worth going through the Quest, because at the end the Hutt gives you one of the best pistols in the Game!

Bendak's blaster. 5-10 damage fully upgraded. Not really all that good, considering your basic Mandalorian heavy blaster does 6-13 base and you can get, I think, five of them throughout the course of the game.

What was the spoiler all about Maverick?

I get really annoyed when people tell me where things to find things if I don't ask for the help so I just wanted to be sure I didn't upset someone

I had my Scoundrel melee him down after two or three grenades, and if a Scoundrel can beat him, anyone can. The key is to buff your character with potions first. Good luck!

Just equip, missions vibroblade, and another custom vibroblade, and attack. Use Flurry, if u have that ability?!?

I think Bendak isn't worth a fight... you must invest much more, than you get for this fight imho.

Actually, it's well worth it. You get 700 credits from Ajuur, 300 or 400 from Zax if you claim the bounty (depending on whether or not you manage to persuade him), and his pistol sells for about 1200 to the Yavin merchant.

Well, I only was able to defeat him with at least 5 plasma-grenades with a level 6 soldier. Every grenade costs about 500, if I remember correctly. So you only get about 100 credits out. The couple of med-kits you need are not included in this calculation. And the Exp you get for defeating him are not worth it imho.

Well, I played at normal difficulty. Perhaps you get more if you play in easy mode.

BTW you get DSP for killing him. As a light character, I won't challenge him again, and I definitly play again as a light character...

The amount of DSP you get for fighting Bendak is stuff all, and you shouldn't need to buy plasma grenades to defeat him anyway. I've beaten him with level 2 characters using a combination of concussion grenades (80 credits a pop) and leftover frag/sonic grenades. And that's on 'difficult'. He's quite vulnerable to stun, and if you have exceedingly bad luck getting him to stay put, you can simply reload and try again.

Is it really so hard to defeat him?!? I defeated him my third time i tried him out. Just raise some levels, and hopefully u would be able to knoch him out ;)
