The forest of mir. The first battle against the master wraiths and his minions... I just cant beat that battle. I got edwin(my only spellcaster apart from minsc, valygar and myself(paly with wis. 16).
But i need them for fighting... So i got a wyrm, a berserk warrior from vhala spiders x2 and a fire elemental... They did maajor damage, but died. So when we all came in the wraiths level drained us, and killed edwin so no spells... I killed master wraith with carsmyr, and three others(what hero h was in that battle) but he died. There was onl two wraiths left, and none of my part left...

ANY HINTS PLEASE TELL ME!

Since the main problem you're faced with seems to be level draining, why don't you find some protection against that? There are several items in the game that offer such protection, including Scrolls of Protection Against Undead, which any of your characters could use.

Here's another idea: "hire" a "henchman" who can help you with the battle. This isn't a battle strategy per se; it's more of a roleplaying strategy. Your character has the amazing ability to return to his Pocket Plane and call NPCs to him. You could take advantage of that if you wanted to. When the battle is over, you could dismiss the "henchman". Most people seem to think that you can't dismiss an NPC who has joined your party, but that's just silly. :)

You want protection against level drain? Just bring a Cleric or a Druid with you. Anomen, Aerie, Jaheira, or Viconia would fit the bill. (I presume that your Paladin would not object to Viconia since he doesn't object to Edwin.) Besides being able to cast Negative Plane Protection, Clerics can also Turn Undead, which could very well help you in a battle against undead monsters. I haven't played without a Cleric for so long, I don't know what I'd do without one. :)

I have a bunch of MODs installed, so there's a chance that the monsters in my game are different from the monsters in your game. But from what I see, the monsters have resistance to almost everything except electrical damage, so I would definitely try to cast spells that cause electrical damage. Clerics can cast Glyph of Warding (the "Holy Hand Grenade"), and Valygar and Minsc should both be able to cast Call Lightning, one of those "weak", under-rated Druid spells that can inflict some serious damage.

Speaking of "weak", under-rated Druid spells, your Rangers can also cast Doom. I'm not sure which spells Edwin can memorize in your game, but Glitterdust, Greater Malison, and Chain Lightning might help. There's nothing quite like lowering your enemies' saving throws, blinding them, and hitting them with lightning bolts. :) Keep Edwin away from the battle and don't let him get level-drained or he will lose his spells (or even die).

Thanks alot! THAT stuff was handy!! Except I used it as a guide and made my own strategy... My PC Undead Hunter with Carsomyer lost bealy any hp and was imune to level drain. Minsc was level drained but with his mad assed swoard that i cant remember the name of. I also used Srevok, with Harbringer. I used mazzy with her bow, and jaheria casting summon fire elemental and lightning. I had edwin off using chain lightning and big fat earth elementals and and wyrverns!
