has to be edwin cuz of all the magic he has lots of slots just as good as a sorceror

I'd have to go with Keldorn, mix him with Holy Avenger, and he rules ^^

Its Jaheria, i understand how the ladies can protest but from the guys view, she should certainly be up there...

1) with the right stuff, she makes an awesome fighter
2) she can cast some rockin healing and defensive spells
3) you can sleep with her (WE HAVE A WINNER)

Well, can't argue with the facts.. you *can* sleep with her after all hehehe

Then again, Viconia isn't that bad either

1) She's a powerful Cleric, best one in the game.
2) She's a good fighter too, not to mention has great DEX
3) You can sleep with her too ^^()

Then let's not forget about Aerie

1) She's a Cleric/Mage (lots of offensive and defensive spells)
2) Cleric/Mages are extremly powerful on higher levels
3)You can sleep with her, too!

to sum it all up, id have to say the women are the best npcs in the game

Except for mazzy, she dun put out hehe

I never considered being able to sleep with an NPC to be one of their strong points (allthought viccy has her moments... a certain point in a certain prison where you scare the crap out of a certain vampire for example). But aside from that.

Fighters = Korgan / Sarevok. Korgan has some nice hp with a nice berserking ability, but sarevok (tob) has the highest stat totals of anyone, plus deathbringer assault rocks.

Mages = Edwin hands down, his number of spell slots surpasses anything a PC can get.

Theives = Immy / Jan, Jan is better later on, but seeing as how lockpicking is probably the best skill, and immy starts out with 95% in it just give her all the theif items and she's pretty much set.

Priests = Viccy, some prefer "sir" anomen with his better combat abilities, and the extra wis dosnt make him too bad ... but for me viccy is better, and less annoying.

Thats "best" as in usefull, but edwin and jan are the most interesting NPC's to have around, minsc's idiocy gets tiresome after a while.

Oh, dear

Well, as always "best" has no common meaning. Best as most powerful? funniest? most interesting? most babe-a-licious? Best solo? small group? large group? Even then, you're still just slinging opinions, since playstyles vary so widely.

I think Jan is my personal overall favourite. He's funny as hell, plays well with everyone, and PI+spike traps = Instant death for most unmodified bosses. Jaheira's probably a close second.

Valygar is probably the most underappreciated NPC - he's a solid character, very well written, and that wicked damage output doesn't hurt any, either Haer'Dalis is also proably grossly underappreciated, but I just don't LIKE Bards.

Oh - and Viconia is clearly the most babe-a-licious

from what i know about us RPG-ers we (or our chars) wold have a really tough time picking here...

Perhaps we are better off with the NPCs added through mods

Yeah hehe, Mirk's just a shallow guy... i mean, even if Aerie is alittle... well.. perky and whiny, she does have her moments, like in ToB when you tell her she's innocent, she sais something like "Just wait until tonight... i'll be anything but innocent" Now that... is a turn on.

And with Jaheira, after you sleep with her... did anyone notice how... she changes? I mean... you litteraly turn her into a new woman, she was a closed up bud when you meet her, but after a night with the knight, she blossoms completely ^^

All Viconia does is complain (probably about your size) hehe
