Does Force persuade work on PC ?

I'm playing on PC and wonder whether Force persuade is efficient. I've taken dominate mind and the persuade options fail most of the time, as if the system was simply using my low persuade skill. Shouldn't it improve the persuasion so that it's very hard to resist ? I'm also surprised to read that many people make a difference between persuade and force persuade, should I have two different options ? Lastly, I've found in many guides and on this forum that the Jedis of your party should sometimes help you with their own Force persuade (for example with Motta the Hutt about Nico), but this never happens to me. Is there a bug ?

Getting dominate/affect mind does not increase your persaude skill in any way. It simply opens up a whole new section of dialouge options which are much harder to resist but often give dark side points.

Example: Your dialouge choices without Dominate Mind

Give me the codes!
Fine. I'll leave now
[Persuade] Will 200 credits change your mind?

[Force Persuade] You want to give me the codes.

Ok, thank you very much. It means that it's a big bug! I never had the force persuade opton and of course, the others Jedi can't help me to persuade if this power doesn't work. Very funny...

What is the bug according to you?

Bear in mind you can't always use force persuade, even in situations where regular persuade is available. You're saying you took both affect mind powers early on and you've never seen an option to use them through dialog?

Exactly, I've been to Tatooine and Kashyyyk and never found [Force persuade] before a dialog option... There was only [persuade]. I'll try to reinstall KOTOR and will probably have to delete my savegame...

On Tatooine, isn't Force Persuade an option in your negotiations to acquire HK-47?

You can also use FP on the hunter's widow at the doorway to the Hunting Lodge, although I find it much better just to persuade her and then give her the 700 credits (500 price + 200 gift) later on.

FP can be used on Kashyyyk on many Czerka employees, from Janos-the-Ithorian to the Gate Guardian Captain to the murderers just outside the gate.

There's plenty of options to use force persuade between Tatooine and Kashyyyk. You can use it any time a Czerka employee approaches you and asks for a docking fee.

Ok, now it's really obvious that I have a bug. That Force persuade option never appeared to me. Thank you everyone! Do you have an idea about what I can do ? Reinstall KOTOR ?

I guess that somehow the game isn't registering the fact that you've taken those force powers... maybe reload from before you took them and try again, if you have a convenient save.

Of course, I took this power before my last safety save... And this wouldn't explain why the other Jedis don't help me with their own affect mind. It might be linked with my French version. I should perhaps try to reinstall it in English.

The other Jedi NPCs won't always chime in with force persuade, only in a select few cases. In fact I can only think of five or six off the top of my head.

I know and can say that, for example, they sould persuade Motta the Hutt on Tatooine if I fail, but they don't!

Hutts are well known for being resistant to "Jedi mind tricks." You can bargain with them and bluff them, but messing with their minds isn't supposed to work, according to SW (GL's) rules. Besides, the KOTOR Hutts aren't "key" players and thus you don't need to have your Force Persuasion work ... unlike in Kashyyyk, for example, where finding out the details of the slave trade arrangements is important in the short-term.

No, he's quite right. Jolee is supposed to chime in and assist with regard to Nico's contract at that stage, although he doesn't use force persuade.
