Sunder and other Dwarven Weapons (spoiler)

I found Sunder, but every time I equip it, it kills me in like 4 or 5 seconds. I have over 300 hps. If I fortify my HPs enough, could I survive and actually use this badass weapon? Or is there some sort of plot thing I have to complete.

You need to move further along in the main quest before trying to equip it.
