NPC's Fight each other

Hi

I searched around on the forum to see if this question has already been answered but no luck. so sorry if its an old question.

Is it possible to make one of the characters ie carth. fight another character, or kill another character. By choosing certain answers in the conversation options?

I heard it was possible, but it was probably rubbish.

If it is possible can u tell me how to make it happen?

cheers

I haven't seen anything like that. The closest I came was trying to get Mission and Carth to keep arguing between themselves, but the talk trees didn't change, I think.

Can't be done. In some RPG respects, KotoR is a step back from BG2, where party NPCs of differing temperaments and ethics would come to blows, and potentially leave your party. I suspect Bioware was trying to target a broader (and therefore younger) age group than BG2 with their new engine, and their first game for LucasArts. There's a sense of streamlining at times: fewer party NPC encounter dialogs, no real interparty conflict, no party NPC taking over the lead action from you, etc.

That's not to say KotoR is a bad RPG; far from it. But Bioware seems to have retreated a bit in it from some elements they added in BG2. I can only hope they add 'em back in future games using the engine.

Actually, from what I've heard, it can be done, but there is some set-up required. I will not spoil it, but it is possible to see some members of your "greater" party fight (i.e., physically) amongst themselves.

I should have been clearer, @Pellaeon. You can get 'em to fight one another (with a lot of effort), but it's done as a heavy-handed attempt to further assess your LS and DS balance. (Gods, Bioware makes the process so glaringly obvious with their "Fight, fight, fight!" multiple choice. ) On the other hand, in BG2 you don't have to be involved in the process of personal differences between your party members, at all: they set at it entirely on their own, and it feels more real to me, as a result. What I meant by "it can't be done," is that they won't leave the party or kill one another in KotoR. These are definite possibilities in BG2.

And you can't kill them deliberately... or kill anyone else deliberately, come to that. :(

That is what im referring to. How can u make that happen. the characters i have together hardly say a word. Obviously im playing the dark side for the first time, after completing the light side.

If you could tell me which characters do it, and how or point me to a guide somewhere, that would be great.

thanks

Re: physicaly fight

Spoilers...

He's not referring to any spontaneous fight between NPCs - he's talking about the bit on the unknown world where everyone gathers back at the Ebon Hawk. If you choose the dark option at the temple summit, then when you arrive back at the Hawk, a big row will break out and certain NPCs can end up fighting one another.

For clarification, NPCs will NOT spontaneously fight one another or leave the party as a result of a hostile interchange, like they did in BG2.

Spoilers....

After the crucial choice, if you have chosen the path of dark side, some of your NPCs won't agree and you can fight them.

Spoilers....

I agree with the others. You can only figth some of the others at the very end of the game, but they will never fight because they have different views (like Carth vs Ordo) or opinions. When I played DS, in the end I had only 4 of the 9 characters helping me. That was the "best" I could do....

Umm...?

Be careful for what you ask. I didn't want to tell you how to do it because you hadn't finished the game, and to tell you would be to spoil the story.

One good point to recall, guys, and this is not any particular forum member: if you're going to start a thread with spoilers, put it in the title; if you're going to post a spoiler, put it at the top of the post, and scroll down a bit before you post it. ;)

Highlight the text in the brackets to read...

{It's been answered before, but no, you can't kill Carth. He gets away. You can never find him, and, regardless, (for story purposes) you've better things to do than go hunt down one Republic-loyalist (some people will whine if I call him a Republican) soldier.}

there are occasional spats, you could say, bewteen certain characters, if they are together in your party long enough. i've seen arguments between mission and carth, mission and bastila, canderous and carth, canderous and bastila, carh and bastila, and bastila will give jolee the come back to the order speech.

but no they won't fight each other or leave your party like in bg2. i remember getting really nervous and pulling carth out of the party and putting zaalbar in after he and mission got into it the first time. but this was before i realized no one was going to leave the party anyway.

despite that though, i really did like the way interactions with non-party members could change dramatically depending on who was in your party. try taking korriban with jolee and canderous. it's hillarious.

About Carth [SPOILERS !]

Spoilers ; highlight to read.

Actually, you can kill Carth.
While playing a female PC, I've seen him again after he ran away. Carth have fallen in love with me. When he fled, he said that he would try to save me. And he tried once Malak is beaten...

carth go on run....

That would be quite funny to see...Shivan

But playing through the whole game again as a woman trying to find a bit of loving would just seem too weird...... :D

...And playing through the game as a guy, doing a multiple choice romance using Bastila's script as written by some other guy isn't?

Killing Party Members

It is possible to kill these party members.
Highlight to read:
SPOILERS

You can kill:

Mission (Go DS on Unknown planet Temple, Zaalbar will kill her for you)

Zaalbar (After killing Mission with him, put him in your party on the Star Forge. He will be overcome with remorse and attack you)

Jolee+Juhani (If you go DS at the Unknown planet Temple and team up with Bastila)

HK-47 (Well, you can't kill him, but you can miss him out entirely, just don't go into the droid shop on Tattooine)

Bastila (On the Star Forge)

Carth (Will run away on the Unknown Planet if you go DS at the Temple. You don't kill him, but he leaves your party)

Unfortunately, this only leaves you Canderous and T3-M4 to deal with the Star Forge.
