Why no expansion?

I'm curious as to why they opted not to release an expansion for this? Yes I know it was their last IE game.. but all their other ones had expansions..it would only make sense to add one to it.
IWD 1 even had 2 expansions (the downloadable one I actually never got to play)

This just an opinion so don't take to seriously, but are you aware of the Heart of Fury mod. Its kind of like an expansion but its a replay of the game with new item and exp.. You probably are aware.
The expansion to Icewind dale is Heart of Winter.

I am aware of it..but some new content would have been nice.. cleaned up a few things.. and what not..
as to IWD 1, there was the Heart of Winter but there was also an expansion on the Interplay site avialable only to those who owned both the original and the expansion..added a new area you coudl goto (new town) with some new quests and such.

Ok. The expansion i believe you are referring to is Trials of the Lure Master. I don't remember if there was a new town but I know there is a new dungeon.

I don't know if I'll ever find them. I've just been spending alot of time wrapped up in the Temple of elemental evil mess, and I wanted to check up on IWD2.. I haven't really played it in quite a few months.. but when I did, I quite enjoyed it, and I was a little perplexed as to why there wasn't an expansion like all the others..
I guess with getting to level 30, maybe they didn't really see what they could add.
Maybe i'll go pillage the interplay sites..maybe they have something in their message board on it.
