Official for the Star Wars universe, I guess you mean then (and not for the game itself)... Maybe you should check out some of the Star Wars sites?
http://www.starwars.com comes to mind.

I've seen both of them. But!, maybe the code has changed (in SW world of course) cause there's cap of several thousands of years between kotor and "modern" SW

Not to mention the fact that the Sith got all but completely annihilated a few thousand years after KotOR, when they changed their thingo to "two at a time, thanks".

It always was just two of them. You have to understand that the rule isn't for sith, but for Sith Masters.
There can never be more than one Sith Master, and the Sith Master's one apprentice (thus, the next MAster). There can, however, be many Sith (as they were once a species, or soceity, or whatnot)

okay, the sith were once a species. fallen jedi came to settle on their planet. eventually the two sort of intermingled into one. by the time of KotOR there is no sith species, only the dark jedi that still follow the sith ideals.
but as far as the always being two of them, you are wrong. this was a concept created and enacted by darth bane(whose name brought the tile of darth that sith lords and apprentices are known by....and is also why technically there could be no DARTH Revan or DARTH Malak....as Bane occurs after KotOR) who slew all other dark jedi and deemed that from that day forward there would be only one Sith Lord and one Sith Apprentice, to keep the darkside's power from being weakened and spread too thin in being divided amongst so may dark jedi.
so, no, there has not always been a two rule, or else the only dark jedi to fight in this game would be malak and bandon. that is why the game was probably set before bane's time. as they had to stretch quite a bit to give you lightsaber weilding foes in Jedi Outcast and Jedi Academy. going back before bane's time allows for the existence of more than just two dark jedi/sith.

According to the stuff I've got here, Bane supposedly redid the code immediately after the Sith were all killed off on Ruusan, which would've been a little over a thousand years before the Empire. But either way, the rule of two thing didn't exist before that.

true as they say, bane started the master and apprentice thingie... you should look into the sith history
got a great history here, its where my code comes from:

i would like to know what code is valid though... and if mine is correct

I feel much the same way, and fortunately, you can play the game without any reference to what Mel Brooks once called the "Moichandising."
