Help! It's chapter 3 now and I just finally got the windspear hills to appear on my map. Problem is that the icon is un-clickable! Anyone have this problem before?

You have to pass by the Gate area in order to leave Athkatla, have you done that? Also, make sure you have spoken to Lord Jierdan in CC. Should all else fail, try to enter the area from one of the areas next to Windspear.

Yup. Went to umar, and tried to get there from that location and nothing. same with temple ruins and druid grove. And the Hills are there, but they aren't clickable. It's obviously some sort of bug. I d/led the latest patch and installed it after the problem happened, but no change. I don't have a saved game that is from before I talked to Lord whatshisname, so I can't just load from before that. I just wanna get rid of these stupid acorns! Plus I can't find bodhi after she ran away -- before battle -- so I only have the guy in the bridge district on my plate. Sigh. thanks, though.

try going back to city gates, then going back to windspear hills...sounds illogical, but it does work sometimes...

yeah I just did, and I think I am hosed. A guy there just gave me the trademeet animals quest. went into the journal and everything. Of course, I finished that quest early in chapter two. People in Trademeet say welcome and all that, and the statue of the party they erected is still up. I'm thinking I'll just play until bugs make it impossible. Thanks for your help tho

Highlighting all of your party members and using the following CLUAConsole command will take you to Windspear Hills:

CLUAConsole:MoveToArea("AR1100")

In my experience, there aren't many bugs in the game. I've helped other people solve a variety of sporadic problems, but I honestly haven't experienced any problems with the scripts myself (unless I messed them up myself while conducting my own...experiments). If you're having serious problems, most likely they are caused by bad CDs or data corruption on your hard drive. That would be my guess, anyway. I'd hate to see you stop playing the game because of problems like this.

Hey ty very much for the help. I will try that in a coupla minutes. I am sure you are correct in your assessment of the released game's lack of bugs, and when I suggested the game is buggy I was actually thinking my CD was the culprit. Don't want to offend anyone in here by using lazy language so am sorry about the inference. Thanks!

Actually, if you get an area to appear on your map after you have been to the city gates, you still have to go back and exit through the gate. Just going to the City Gates region again won't do the trick.

The thing with Trademeet probably occured because you got the quest from Mazzy? That is the one exception that I know of to the rule that you have to go through the city gates to get to the outlying areas.

It worked and I am now in Windspear. Thanks all for the tips. Odd, though; I've been able to go from any of the outlying areas straight to, say, the docks all game long with no problem. Windspear is area 1200 for me too. Thanks again all.

Once an area is blue you can go to it from any other area. It is just the first time that you need to go through the city gates to turn the outlying areas blue. Just like you have to go to the Slums the first time to turn the areas within Athkatla blue.

I've had problems with the same thing. I always had to go the the Dearnise keep and then go to the windspear hills
