That’s the Amn Adult Bowling League. They’re worried that you’ll steal their trophy from them (they've held the championship title for five years running). :p :D

I have a level 23 Bowler dualled to a mage with the experience cap removed! Completely legit! I think I can take 'em!

Most people (okay, mainly myself) assume they're priests of Bhaal. They kinda leave it open ended and I assume they'll clarify it in ToB. They for sure aren't the Cowled Wizards cuz I killed 'em all. :D :D Cursed mages!

At first I thought they were harpers who had decided you were too big a threat to live. But this is highly unlikely; given their abrasive personalities (they call you a fool and say you’re doomed: Cliché villain dialogue). For a while I believed they were priests of Cyric who wanted to stop you before you could wrench the murder portfolio from their god. But that theory is belied by the presence of Bhaal’s icon on the table they’re sitting at. Rail’s opinion that they’re priests of Bhaal is a sound one, though they seem to have hedged their bet on someone else ascending to godhood. Maybe Sarevok was their boy. After all, he did have a priest of Bhaal approach him and explain his lineage (Read his diary in Baldur’s Gate for details) as well as another mentor who helped him escape from the Ducal Palace after his coronation fiasco (whom he also killed). So the answer is we don’t have a clue who they are. They could very well be the Amn Adult Bowling League for all we know! ;)

I guess they're either some of the other children of bhaal, or they're maybe priests of bhaal.

They are saying that you will soon die, so maybe they don't like that you're some cind of "good-guy" who's saving the elves from Irenicus etc..

Hey man, my fighter just got five proficiencies in bowling ball :) so I'll make sort work of these guys.

It'd be great if in the end you could duke it out with all the other sons/daughters of Bhaal (a fighter, thief, etc.)

No, they are NOT Cowled wizards.
Trust me on that :) .
As for the prists of Bhaal (but if they are still clerics I dont know, Cyric still gives the spells to the clerics that still worship some of the "not-so-dead" gods ;) ) idea I quite agree with that, since they are the only ones that recive anything from Bhaal getting back...

And what do you think about the following simple intrigue :

these guys are really priests of Bhaal and they worship Cyric so far only to destroy him using one of the children of Bhaal that finally (after defeating Cyric) becomes new Bhaal - evil ending of ToB.

these guys are disappointed the behaviour of PC which is too good and finally they try to destroy him with Cyric (who knows that child of Bhaal is potentialy dangerous - especially if it is PC with say, 30 level)

I like the idea of differing endings depending upon choices you've made throughout the game or on your alignment. However, I hope it isn't like the ending of BG2, with only minor differences.

BTW- does anyone know if Archers get bonuses with bowling balls, cuz if so, I'm set! Two words for ya, baby: called shot! :D

They're most likely the 5 'major Bhallspawn' that are in TOB.

Dave Gaider said they were "bad guys", and after being flamed a bit for such an uninformative answer he admitted that they were they Five, but at that time their concepts were not done yet.

There are 7 of the at the table, and they all appear human.

The only one of the 5 that resembles one of the 5 would be Balthazar. But that might be right though, he could talk to his disciples.

However, the way they speak makes me think they are not Bhaalspawns themselves. "the child of bhaal" they say, wouldnt say if they werent themselves...

You've got the answer right there. Just poor work on Bioware's part. The Five were originally intended to be the Seven, and they were all to be human or Humanoid.

As for your attempts to integrate them into the story, It's impossible to come to any foregone conclusion because of the above fact. You could conceiveably put them as Cowled wizards, but I prefer to see them as Maybe Balthazar and his top Generals. Or alternately they could be an unknown Bhaalspwn affiliation, not unlike the five, but destroyed by circumstances unknown to you.
