editing our own thread titles

This is not a big deal but I'm wondering why we can't edit the titles of our own threads. Sometimes I forget to add a "no spam" qualifier, or I come up with something more apt and I wish I could go back and change it. I know we can PM mods, but why saddle them with the bother?

I do agree with Buck's decision to disallow post deletion, since that can eliminate entire threads in which people have put time and interest, but I would think giving people the power to edit their own titles should not cause too many problems.

As I said, it's hardly a big issue, I'm mostly just curious.

Hmm, I think you should be able to. The only thing I could find in my adminstrative options was that vBulletin has a default time limit of 5 minutes after which you can no longer edit a thread's title. I have removed this restriction entirely, so hopefully you can edit titles without a hitch now.

Tried it on an old thread, didnt work.
Maybe it only works on new threads, havent tried that.

[EDIT] Also tried it on a new thread. I cant change the title within, or after 5 minutes.

I've often wanted to do this as well, and haven't succeeded.

Hmmm... I have tested it out on several threads now, and it still doesn't seem to be working...
