I think they shouldn't have made that planet a part of the game. they should have picked another one.

the selkath really annoyed me there, with all there laws about not fighting, and it takes so long to go anywhere on the ocean floor, i hated it

Wow i didn't know so many people dislike manaan, but i bet i hate it worse than you. I started a new game and manaan was the 3rd planet i got to, halfway thru the planet i got sick of it and i haven't played in almost 2 weeks.

So many people...? Three people responded to you, and of those, one appears to have only really disliked the voices.
I didn't mind Manaan. Basically, so much of KotoR's environments were non-interactive window-dressing; and as such, Manaan wasn't bad. I did wish there were more places to visit, and more interactions, rather like so many quarters in BG2. But that's a criticism I'd level at much of KotoR, and not just Manaan. Each to their own.

I soo hated the underwater station AND suit...I dunno its something about the station its dark, and stupid crazy selkaths attack you, its just SO pointless....

Just curious; why is it pointless? The point is to get to a certain location. The reason for the crazy Selkaths is very clearly explained.

Fable the world sucks because it's to slow in my opinion.

Well, me personally, I didn't hate the whole planet. Some parts of manaan made me angry like how slow you walk outside hrakert station on the ocean floor that just gets annoying. Some parts of manaan I liked however, like the sith base so I can't give an opinion of whether I hated it or not

Actually, I thought that the slow under-water walking was quite funny. I'm not sure why, but walking in that suit reminds me of....of....a jolly fat man.
The Selkath voices were pretty annoying, but then so are a lot of the non English voices. The wookies perhaps have the best voices.
I thought that Manaan was one of the more interesting worlds as you had to trick/reason your way out of situations with their courts. But it wasn't that difficult. I don't know if it's even possible for you to get it wrong and have them lock you up.
I found the Selkath to be some of the more challenging enemies. I chose it as the first world to visit because it seemed pretty peaceful(a bunch of fish holding on to their neutrality. Then I found the Selkath would slaughter my team with their poison...

The problem with all the alien languages is that they only synthesised about half a dozen sequences for each one (to save space -- no one understands the damn things anyway so why bother customising all of them?). That's why they all sound the same after a while, and generally have no bearing at all on the amount of text accompanying them. I've seen aliens take 40 seconds to enunciate "hey you".

And rather amusingly, we actually had a couple of members posting excitedly when this forum first started about how each race in KotoR was speaking a fully developed language without repetition.
Is it just me, or do all the alien voices take an ungainly amount of time to express a few lines of text?
Only exception might be the Jawa's. Man, they talk so fast they shut up a few seconds after each sentence to give you some time to read the subtitles.
But otherwise, yes. But I really hated the Ithorian language more than the Selkath, though.
Well, what I hated about Manaan was indeed the slow walking under water, but also that even after completing the game twice, I had to walk the wrong way first, before finding anything. The city parts just look too much alike.
But except for those two things, I liked Manaan. Lots of options on how to do things. Getting a discount for being nice.

Heh
I've just finished Manaan. The underwater thing was a bit slow, yes, and I wasn't very good at doing all those trials. I let Sunry go free because I didn't want him to be executed but people seemed to be cross with me for letting him free.

I loved Manaan, the trials, the whole Selkath-Republic-Sith situation and its intrigues and the short convo's with Republic and Sith soldiers. Great planet for me - and I don't mind the slow walking underwater parts, they are also a bit 'spooky', and the slow walking adds to the sensation of unsuspected dangers lurking ahaead. Or, it did so the first time.
The alien voices take so long, I presume, to give slower readers a decent chance to read the subtitles. You can click through them once you've read the text. The Selkath babbling is actually amusing, more so then the Twi'lek, I think.

manaan was the first world i went on my first time through and it was quite impressive, then i realized the other worlds were more linear/faster to complete but still..
compared to the other worlds manaan is slower than most(except for korriban maybe) and using the force speed area transition glitch the ocean floor walk wasn't that bad..
well the selkath talk sounds rather repulsive to me atleast but what about hutt talk that's just annoying and twi'lek ain't a pleasure to the ear after talking to same guy over and over...
i dunno i think in the end i like manaan more than i hate it...
