I tried installing baldur's gate shadows of amn on my new pc, but to my dismay the file named npcsound.bif didn't install... and it isn't transferable either. does anyone have any suggestions?

This means that ure cd is scratched.

I had problems with the same file. The only way is either buying a new cd, or trying to get the file from somewere/someone. But since its about 14MB, emailing will be a bit hard.

Copy that particular disc from a friend - it is accepted in most national legislations to make a safety copy of your already purchased software.

That's not quite the way to go about it. ;) Instead, follow the rules. In this case, the latter part of rule #4, since you're not advertising anything.

ah wel fable solves the mystery ;) , the link from where i downloaded the program is http://homepages.ihug.com.au/~roadkil/unstopcp.htm .... anyway hopefully it lives up to its name, 'unstopable copier'
