blade stratagies

Post by Illuman »

I just started playing a NG Human blade yesterday and since I have never played any character class quite like this before I was wondering if anyone knew some effective stratagies or tactics with the blade. I assume tensors and whatever the armor spells are are effective, but for low level or just general stratagies I an inexperienced. Any links or info would be great. Thanks.

My first time through I had Haer'Dalis in my party and I used him as mainly a pre-combat buffer and a front line fighter once I got the Melodic Chain. He was pretty good with Cutthroat and Kundane. I never really used either of the spins or the bard song though. Come to think of it I never use the bard song at all. It's up to you.

cheesy tactics...

cast improved haste, and offensive spin...despite description, they stack..cast tensors to boost thaco...

free action and defensive spin will allow you to move around...

cast mislead...the mislead clone can still sing bard song and improved bard song, and improved bard song stacks...

abuse use any item with tob installed... :p :p :p
They call me Darth...

Blades are just cool...

Soloing one right now. My progress is in one of the other posts (soloing a Blade) in case you need.

Use and abuse the web and area effect spells. They rock.
Flesh to stone ain't permanent, it seems.

Bards are like most other characters at low levels: they don't seem very powerful. Bards are even worse than some of the other character classes in that respect. But at higher levels, they really start to rock (no pun intended). :) So I would counsel patience and advise you to recruit NPCs to help you get started. Plain old Fighters are going to do most of the heavy lifting in your party at lower levels. As your spellcasters gain levels, you need to learn as many tricks as you can, and then you'll be impressed with them. :)
