Hey, I was wanting to make a thief class character with shortswords and the ability to cast levitation and stuff like that. Oh and to throw daggers and I was wondering if anyone whose has played a thief before or knows anything about it could help me with skills and stuff (I'm a little confused about whats important to a thief) Also do skills such as mercintile and speechcraft are good enough to get a minor skill place for a thief? thanks in advance for all help

Major Skills
Securiy
Marksman
Athletics
Acrobatics
Short Blade

Minor Skills
Alteration
Light Armor (or unarmored, depening on what u want or both)
Speechcraft
Block
Mercantile

yea pink's right bu u could replace athletics with some magic skill (conjuration)....athletics' gonna grow fast anyway with runnin and jumpin

alot of characters dont give their information easly....they need to be pershuased (read-bribed) to do so...speechcraft tremendlesley helps with bribing....
mercantile can be wery useful at later levels-when u could use the money (thoug u're gonna have it as a thief)...u can bargin for a better price (up to double the offer...if the seller has deep pocket that is)
I am a wood elf thief (dou i started as a darkelf atfirst)...generaly,there are several characters in the thieves guild that are WoodElves,and as such,will be happier to see you.i dont think it matters that much.(that is,if u dont mind be looked from above..-wood elves are verry small)

Actually i started a female wood elf, im thinking about going male because of the str lowering but anyways she was actually pretty tall. Well taller than fargoth and a little bit shorter than the guards.
