I don't remember any other. But you can use protection from undead scrolls.

Yup, I agree with him. The only things that I've encountered with the level drain resistance are the amulet of power and mace of disruption.
Level drain really sucks, don't you think? Bioware should have made it only a temporary effect for 24 hours or so.

Undead Hunters are immune to level drain and maybe barabarian rage makes them immune too. I think it is fair to have it permanent, otherwise vampires would be too easy. The first vampire fights you'll have are in chap 3 and that's after Aran gives you the amulet. The only other times i fought vampires before chap 3 was in Firkaag's dungeon.

@RiP- I ran into the same problem soloing an assassin. I used the Prot from Undead scrolls, rested often to recharge Daystar, and made several trips back up from the crypts to a temple in town. Very annoying, but I couldn't figure any way around it, if you can't use the 2 aforementioned items.
BTW- why not use the Mace of Disruption +2. Stalkers can use maces.

No such items except the mace and the amulet. But where is the problem? Operate at daylight and avoid quests that involve vampires for now. If you work for Bodhi then there are no random vampires in the streets and you can get the mace soon. If you work with Aran, then you get the amulet immediately.
Ahh, I see. A stalker cannot use the amulet. In this case make a short attack to a Bodhi's Lair - only to get the mace. You can use the protection scroll recommended above. Now, leave Bodhi alone until you upgrade the mace. Return and finish your work with the upgraded mace.

I soloed a berserker/thief and didn't fight a single vampire

I joined bodhi and had drizzt do the final fight for me. But I had the mace. Used for fighting liches.

i dont use mace of distruption because im specialist in longswords , short swords and long bows, i dont use 2 weapon style so i putted 2 points in single weapon style
the 1ยบ fight i had with vampires was on the street and it was only 3, i used sunray from daystar wich killed 2 of them, the other i killed with meelee, but i lost 6 levels leaving me with level 6
what sucks in level drain is that you lose your spells, with a fighter there is no problem with this, its just a matter of using a restoration scroll.
i think the best way to kill all the vampires in bodhi's lair is the protection from undead scroll.
sucks next time i will use the sk to make a thief/beserker so i would not have problem with this

amulet of power or mace of disruption +2w will do the trick. vampires are my fav. enemies, cos i am using ranger/cleric, which can turn undead and with mace of disruption +2 , vampires should scare me now. and the mace would be needed in some quests, like the demi-lich, CH3 and 6.
protection form undead is too valuable to be used against bodhi, just use those items and nagetive panner protection will do,

ok i putted 1 point in maces, i didnt know that mace of distruption could kill with 1 blow, that makes thing even better, i killed kangax using a protection from undead scroll when he turns into demi-lich then i hitted him with the mace and he died !

Do note of course that Druids & Clerics & paladins can cast Negative plane protection. That helps to stop level Drain.
Also, If you take a cleric character who is allied to Lathandar, then they will get Extra capabilities such as Hold Undead & Boon of Lathandar, the latter of which is also a protection from Level Drain.

a fightercleric is perfect here, i had one as my PC, but i guess anomen works well. Use the amulet of power, ring of gaxx and kill all the vampires yourself

The Protection from Undead scroll can cause trouble with Undead who initiate dialogue with you to advance the plot, resulting in unkillable undead, etc. Have you thought of using the Staff of Fire? It can summon up to 20 Fire Elementals, who do some serious damage to Undead. Remain hidden yourself and guide them to their targets, or you could do some backstabbing while the elementals distract the vampires. You don't need to use any proficiency slots on staff, you just need to have the staff in a quick weapon slot to use it.
