4th level Watchers Keep flames - spoilers

Okay, so I feel like I must have missed something. I have three of the flame oils (red, blue and purple) to light those braziers in the southwest of the 4th level of Watchers Keep - the same level as Carston hanging out in the machine. I have the lighter, as well, and the dialogue will let me light the flames as I choose.

On the other hand, I have no clue as to what order in which to light them. I feel like the game is pretty good about clues - I don't expect that I'm supposed to just guess until I stumble on the right combination - which means that somewhere I missed picking up the set of clues that will allow me to figure out what order I'm supposed to light these babies. (I have a lot of clues from Lum the Mad, but I assume that those are for operating the machine itself, and I'm obviously not there yet...)

Can anyone help? At this point I don't want the answer to what order I'm supposed to light the flames in - what I want is some help with where I'm supposed to get the clues to which order I'm supposed to be lighting. (If there aren't any, I guess I want the order itself - I don't want to just sit around lighting and extinguishing until I guess correctly.)

Thanks all - this is my first time through ToB after playing SoA a number of times (okay, I'm a little behind the times!) and it's been a lot of fun. Too many movies that take the control out of your hands in ToB as compared to SoA for my taste, but that's really my only (minor) complaint - it's been great extending the BG2 universe for a while!

try looking on the floor ;) there are indeed some clues hidden in the room and watch out so that you don't step on them.

In other words, light the chandaleers following that pattern that is in the floor of that same room.

Garaz is right. If you'll look on your overview map at the entire level, there will be odd colored tiles on each side of the level that will indicate the pattern.

This game IS about watching for little things like that or you'll be running around forever. You gotta keep up with those developer folks. :D

:) Thanks to both of you - for the help and the quickness of your responses - who wants to wait when they want to PLAY?

I noticed those colored tiles but didn't think a thing of them - other than to think, "huh, colored tiles - I wonder why?". Oops.

No WAY I can keep up with the developers, though! I enjoy what they do but can't claim to be even 10% as creative!

Thanks again! :)
