Imoen

Well I was considering dualling Imoen at Seventh Level as a pure mage in order to prevent suffering from thief shock in Baldur's Gate II, but before hand I was wondering whether a mere Seventh Level thief (With all her points in Locks and Traps.) could survive Durlag's Tower and still make way with all the treasure chests that my Str 19 swordswoman can't break, and if so in Durlag's Tower what about the rest of the game?

Or in people's opinion is it better just to suffer Thief Shock considering that Minsc's Witch will already be wearing the Robes of the Good Arch-Magi and there really isn't any more really good Mage Armor in the Game?

Thanks.

If you've got sufficient skill with traps, you should be fine. Just use knock on the locks that you cant force. I wouldnt recommend thief shock in Durlag's tower, or any dungeon. You'll be fine anywhere else though

Hit 100% on find traps and dual her. Then pick up another thief or rely on pure strenght to open locks. The most needed hability on BG is find traps, for they are the main problem on discovering a map, IMO.

You already have Dynaheir so I'm wondering if it would do you any good to dual Immy. She'll start out as a lvl 1 mage and it would take a lot of xp to get her to lvl 8...

Dynaheir is specialized as an Evoker, so there are quite a few useful spells she simply can not learn.

you can always carry a couple (or a lot!) scrolls of "knock" 2 level mage spell, for those toughrer locks. money's not a problem anyway
