What I need to do to enchant weapon to be HOLY, KEEN etc.?

You need to start with a weapon that is, at least, of masterwork quality. Then, the person who has the "craft magic arms and armor" feat needs to have the related spell. For example, to put "Holy" on a weapon, the person crafting the weapon has to be able to cast the spell Holy Smite.

Does that help?

If you look in the TOEE folder, then the data folder, and then the rules folder, you will see a document entitled "item creation" - open it (I used notepad) and it identifies what criteria/spells are necessary for creating/enchanting items.

I have also found that my 3E DMG is also accurate (I guess these things didn't change much in the 3.5E rules).

Typically there is a caster level requirement and a spell requirement.

Fire - Fireball or flame strike

Keen - Keen weapon

Frost - ice storm

That's off the top of my head. I'll have to see what other effects are available.

My advice: check the topic titled "Magic Weapons - making of" to find a massive list of requirements for enchantments, or make a search on Atari's forums with a link through greyhawkgame.com.

Trust me, you will likely find plenty of information through either of these sources. ;)

Maybe I didn't explain it right, but when I open my ToEE folder, I see three other folders - modules, data, and miles - when I open the data folder, I see 7 folders - art, sounds, movies, dlg, mes, scr, and rules. Inside the rules folder are what I guess you'd call documents for things like item creation and starting equipment - but on my computer, I definitely have a folder titled rules inside a folder titled data (I just double checked to make sure I wasn't crazy).

Crafting Items

Can anyone tell me if you can upgrade an already enchanted item. ie: As mage gains higher ability can she add higher level enchantments, also with crafted items.

Yes, you can add more enchantments to a magic weapon or suit of armor. For instance, you can decide to add the Keen ability to a bladed weapon (sword, axe, anything that causes slashing damage), and then later add, say, flaming (if you have the appropriate spell), as long as you meet the requirements for money and spare experience.

Keen is only for slashing weapons?

keen for bladed weapons, bludgeoning for blunt weapons.

I never saw a bludgeoning enchantment option, but I was able to enchant any weapon with the keen property - blunt items as well as ranged.

Even though the term is incongruous with piercing and bludgeoning items, I guess the game will allow it as an enchantment to increase the weapon's threat range.

From what I remember, with the D&D/Forgotten Realms resource books (also known as "accessory" books), Impact is the name of the enchantment to enhance the critical threat range of a blunt weapon.

It's too bad this game couldn't include MANY things. Sure, it could have prestige classes (Blackguard, Loremaster, etc.), regional feats, subraces, and more, but there are quite a few things that this game seems to have shined from. ;)

I know it's been a long time since this question was asked, but i just wanted to say that in TOEE , the "Keen" ability can be aplied to all weapons with effect.

In D&D 3.0/3.5 , as Galuf the Dwarf said, Impact is for blunt wpns and keen is for slashing/piercing. Also, you can't make a Keen bow, but you can make Keen Arrows.

In TOEE the "magic weapon spell" should make 50 of your stones/bolts/arrows magical(+1), but it doesn't. Instead all enchantments are applied to the bow.

It's just one of the things the developers didn't manage to do in time for the release, it's a real shame.

Imagine how this game would be if it worked as it should! My bet is, that within months it would've matched the popularity of games like BG I&II, IWD I&II and the ever classic Fallout games, combining Rpg & tactics wonderfully.

Oh, well, I'm a hopeless romanic when it comes to crpg's

"I got axe for you!" :) :) :)
