Slaves

I have encountered a few slaves during my travels. And I always set them free, and then kill them to raise my skills. Is this not a good thing? Are the slaves important? Will they eventually go to a town and become apart of another quest or if I set them free, they will still stay where I left them?
What Im really asking is, are there any consiquences for killing slaves?

Except for a clear sign of being a sociopath? Hmm, nope. ;>
Well, actually, there a couple of escaped slaves that will want you to escort them. That'd be the quest-bit. I don't think there are any quests around the slaves you can buy and release though.

Buying slaves to free them counts toward the Twin Lamps, and may count in a few mods as well.

Where do you find the twin lamps though? Is it just the chick in Vivec???
Hmm, talk about attitude problem... What do you mean "WTF do they do"? They exist. They are around. They want to be free. Lots of NPCs don't do anything. What would they do? They are slaves for crying out loud!

ROFLMAO....
It never occurred to me for a second to kill them ..... I mean...*sheesh*....pick on your own size, huh? plenty of cliff-racers and rats and all sorts of googlied-eyed beasts to kill... pick your difficulty level and go fer it...
...I set all the ones I came across free.... when I could anyway,
and when I couldn't find keys or whatever, or was in a hurry, I felt *guilty* and *BAD* and *mean* at leaving them behind.....
As for escort duty, I've come across at least two - and lost them both times.....one must still be wandering round *somewhere*.....
...and the other, I lost in a river or ravine, fell down a steep hillside into the water and I just levitated out, went on my way, and forgot all about my following NPC....
until about 100 game-hours later...there he was still flapping in the water
Anyway, how do you join the Twin Lamps?

Spoiler-like
If my memory does not betray me, you have to do the thieves guild quests. Once you meet their über-boss, he'll give you a mission that will put you in touch with a woman in Vivec, daughter of some important person or other. She will then ask a number of favors of you, for the TL. As far as I understand, that is pretty much it. Not a big thing, and I don't even think you get the TL in your list of guilds.
Then again, I might have missed something. You never know with this game, really...
