short question:

does baldurs gate 2 run with windows xp?
should I use any specific patch?

Yes, Baldur's Gate 2 will work with Windows XP. Just make sure you have the latest version of the game and you'll be fine. If the version you have is not the latest, you can download the appropriate patch from Bioware.

If you install Throne of Bhaal, there's a well-known bug that prevent NPCs from talking to you, but it was fixed in the first official Throne of Bhaal patch. If you install Throne of Bhaal after installing Shadows of Amn, you don't need to apply any Shadows of Amn patches.

Yeah i have windows XP and bought it about.. oh three months ago. Guess it was the latest version, seeing as it was the Collection edition. Throne of Bhaal included heh
